Llegaba junto a los jesuitas y españoles las danzas del virreinato, en este caso la zama cueca, que llego a bolivia, chile y argentina, en cada país fue variando y creando nuevos ritmos folkloricos dependiendo las influencias nativas o extranjeras de cada país, aca en argentina es común que se toque con bandoneon o acordeon que son instrumentos traidos por inmigrantes

What a wonderdul dance, lezginka!! Are you from the Caucasus? If this reminded you of lezginka, you've got to check out another traditional dance from 🇦🇷: malambo... I think the moves are more similar...Anyway there is no connection between lezginka and malambo since it developed during colonial times around 1600. Greetings!

@@larabaez8874 No, I was born in SW USA -near Las Vegas, Nevada. I live in SE Idaho in the NW USA. However, I love all sorts of folk music, including Russian and Chechen. I am very fond of Mexican and other Hispanic music as well. (I love watching the ladies from Vera Cruz balancing candles on their heads while dancing to "La Bruja".) This was my first introduction to music from Argentina and it was a wonderful experience. I recognized the Chemnitzer because I own one, though I still haven't figured out how to play it. I think I have heard of Malambo but know nothing of it. If it is as good as this I will 100% definitely check it out.

@@larabaez8874 I did just now watch several Malambo dances, including Nestor Vega and Martin Peralta, as well as some from the 2017 Laborde Festival. I couldn't tell what Senor Peralta was swinging, he was SO FAST! The men's costumes betray more old-world Spanish influence than does that of Mexico. The footwork is like a sped-up version of Ceol Rince -the national dance of Ireland. I play Irish mandolin and banjo and used to be a Scottish bagpiper. I love the baggy pants the fellows wear -are they gaucho? I am trying to learn how to use the Argentine bolo; it's fairly hard to be accurate. Nor do I have a moving target. @@jeb6314 I'm glad you searched for my suggestion! yes, those trousers are typical of gauchos! The footwork has Spanish influence since malambo emerged in 1600s and Spanish conquerors influenced local natives and criolla with dances which include "zapate". Thank you for watching!

Most of the original folk dances are found in buenos aires (which was the capital of the viceroyalty) so the elite, in salons, were in charge of establishing a culture. Although the most popular folklore in argentina is the chacarera, the malambo and the chamamé. The chacarera, which is from northern argentina, like the chamamé, has a strong link with the european jesuits who came to the missions, since they were the ones who taught music to the locals, the jesuits popularized the violin and the guitar, there is even a very famous jesuit who is still remembered with the last name Solano. In addition to the jesuit connection, the chamamé also has Eastern European immigrants, especially from ukraine, who introduced the accordion. The malambo is one of the oldest dances in argentina, it varies depending on the region, or north or south. Over the years it of course received other influences, the last was the popularity of ballet that began to be incorporated into argentine folklore, perhaps that is why it is also somewhat reminiscent of lezginka.
