I feel like close encounters of the third kind is the unofficial sequel to 2001... just not chronologically.

Kubrick should have put some extra effort in the suits for the monkeys in the opening sequence, as it is they look they are straight out of some cheap 1940s horror movie! 😅

Listen , I like renee as a singer. But as an actress I don’t think she’s like.. the best actress for Regina if you’re going to do a sequel. Not to offend renee as I really like her personality and singing voice. 💕💕

The monolith was not an alien! 🤦🏼‍♂️ It was a tool. A piece of technology that they used for all the different purposes to work with humanity. Or work on humanity.

I feek like it has to be constantly reminded that mean girls 2024 is a screen adaptation of the mean girls stage musical which is an adaptation of the movie, so theres gonna be a difference, the comparsions shouldn't be to the original mean girls movie but to the stage musical

Read the books. The aliens of the monolith had long ago evolved into pure, disembodied consciousness.

Don't steal from one movie, steal from everybody! Tarantino used songs from other movies and camera work. Easter eggs that only movie geeks can identify. Other bad movies try to be at least 2 or 3 other cool movies all at once but fails miserably.

She was amazing in the movie however, the movie sucked. It was about two hours too long the whole time. I just wanted it to be over. My Friend said I’m glad I could cross it off my bucket list, but it was never really on my bucket list. It just felt like a bunch of puzzle pieces to different puzzles. Nothing felt or complete or really well thought out. But some of the performances were decent. The actors were good.

There’s just so much to this film. It’s a sci-fi first but also undoubtedly a horror. The audio when the monolith is shown, A.I. scheming against and eliminating humans, being trapped/isolated in one room for 3/4’s of your life. Yea. It was also beautiful though. Not many films have achieved so much

@@ConorsMovieList to me, it felt like Perkins wanted to make something tonally in lines with the shining. The studio then mandated he incorporate all these modern tropes into that

I agree very much with your thoughts. Starts well, visually impactful and Nic is very creepy. It had the makings of a great film but just fell a bit short. I watched it in quite a busy screen and there was a noticeable drop in audience concentration after the first 1/3 of the film which tbf, felt somewhat justified. Certainly not just a one time watch and I will still be recommending to folks!

@@peaceflower102 Yeah definitely still worth recommending to people and it's great to see original, lower budgets films doing really well at the box office

That's how the character is in the musical. We have to remind ourselves that this movie is based off the musical, not the movie. And so, Regina is much more in your face mean and calls you a loser to your face in the musical.

The shoes change from silver to red in the show. They’re allowed to do it. The shoes should be red by the time Dorothy has them on, so they clearly changed it for some reason, but that’s not why.
