I always loved these cars as a kid when I was living in Düsseldorf back in 1967-69. GM should have produced an American version of this car like they did with the Opel Kadett which was the Chevrolet Chevette in the US.

Had one of these in the early 90s. It was black and broke down a lot. I used to call it "The Black Pig" after the Captain Pugwash ship. My girlfriend was horrified because she thought it was racist.

I hate the cab-over engines because we don't like to seat over the motor and propeller as it gives stress with it and it will not work anymore. Luckily the engine is in front of driver.

They used a GM 250 cid inline 6 cylinder engine, and a GM 4 cylinder 151 cid, This car was called OPALA = Opel (body) + Impala (engine). Today It's a collectible item.
