Had just got home from school and my buddy called me saying "quick turn on channel 4, you're not gonna believe this!!". I tuned in right where Oderus is talking about the '15 foot growing penis that sprays digestive fluid everywhere'. After the interview I hopped on my bike and rode to the record store to buy Scumdogs. Eventually I was able to see them in concert and they were HILARIOUS.

I always think Joan Rivers had an eye for raunchy and controversial entertainment, so GWAR were a perfect fit for her show! You just had to watch her uncut, stand up routine to see that she wasn’t afraid of pushing the envelope.

I noticed something interesting about this: it sounds like, around the time Scumdogs came out, Oderus kinda had an accent. Then around the time of America Must Be Destroyed/Phallus in Wonderland, he sounds more like he does in later releases. But the old Oderus voice still sounds familiar... because it got recycled into Father Bohab’s character!
