Can you add a mini split AC to a 30 Amp R V ? Or can you replace existing A C for a larger btu ? I have an Onan 5000 generator also.....Regards Sandy

Perfectly handled Kenny. Impact wrenches are expensive but well worth the price. Those channel locks and needle nose pliers look as old as the trailer! 🙂✝👍

They probably are.

I'm wondering if the rims had something pushing against the drum edge causing it to separate when the lugs were tightened down? I've seen semi trailer brake drums shatter from heat and braking pressure but they come apart across the braking area for the shoes.

I saw it on heavy truck hauling gravel in rear dump beds. I was working at a dealership and they would do maintenance in the off season and when spring arrived they would not stop.

Those yellow jackets. She just moved their house. You would be upset if you thought someone stole your house.

Last time I got stung on my middle finger. It swollen over twice the size. I would not be a good RV tech I can only guess.

I was an RV tech back in the late 70's into the late 80's (before it was cool). Worked on alot of those Shasta's, Terry's, Holiday Ramblers, used to dread working on the Airstreams back then. It was like they designed them on purpose to be difficult to repair anything on them.

Those drums are air cooled now. 😂
@ipcamper9940Күн бұрын
I wonder if you can even find drums for that old trailer. It would probably be easier to just replace the whole axle and hub assembly ( with brakes! )

No brakes defore, no hardware now. Stay away from me. I dont need or want that train wreck anyware near me when im out there. That trailer was built the same year i was born. Thats insane.

No repack even?? I think those lugs are 85-95 ftlb from what I remember. Something wasn't right, never seen that either. Wrong shoes??

That trailer looks like it's a fish and hunting camp trailer. Get pulled twice a year. And remember, it's 53 year old!

Yellow jackets are much more aggressive than bees. But anyway, I had some build a nest right under my front door threshold, under the porch. Didn't know they were there until my dog and I both got stung coming in the door. Hurt for days! If I had been stung 3 times that week, I would have told that lady forget it! Can't believe they didn't go after you.

That has taken a few years to wear through the drum. If it was getting pulled all across the US, I would have made sure it had brakes put back on. Sounds like that camper is a temporary office a week or two per year, not too far from home. I might be wrong, but you don’t see too many 1970’s Campers in active use today. Thanks for the Videos, Kenny. Have a Good Week.

whenever you do a repair to a wheel you always replace the bearings, they're so cheap but so important
@brianhanson8023 сағат бұрын
In what world would that make sense ?

I would have walked away as soon as I realized what the problem was. Either she pays for full workable brakes, or I walk. Don't want any part of a potential lawsuit due to an accident.
@oldbroad7672Күн бұрын
Even though I'm the least mechanical person on the planet, when that first piece (brake drum?) just fell right out I knew something was wrong 🤣
@vincentgonzales8917Күн бұрын
I hope you had her sign a non liability letter. Should anything happen on the road you could be a party of the accident.
@davidnoyes3373Күн бұрын
Liability wouldn’t mean anything if you get sued!
@redc8783Күн бұрын
The front axle probably didn’t have brakes on it them old trailers generally came with a single brake axle 😂😂😂
@hillbillyrvКүн бұрын
I thought of that later. You are probably right.
@andrewspies1968Күн бұрын
I would think there would be a liability concern here by not installing new brakes on a trailer that will clearly be pulled down the road. If stationary no big issues but……just sayin’
@jerrywiese9722Күн бұрын
I agree with you, I've never seen anything like it. Is it possible the shoes were too wide for the drums? That would cause that kind of failure eventually wouldn't it?
@russellfogg7800Күн бұрын
Excellent job again. I realize she's going down the road without breaks anyway. Do you have any liability because you didn't fix it correctly? I assume you have to tell her on the bill, that she has no brakes. Which I guess she knew. Doesn't seem right she should go down the road like this. It's a hazard of course! You did the job of getting her on the road, for sure. I guess you can't fix $tupit! ( I didn't want to come out and say it, u get my drift)

Yes it does Rv owners to check these valves to make sure they are functioning properly. I am constantly checking in my Rv and lubricate them periodically. I also use a back flush fitting that has its own termination valve. So far zi haven’t had to use it as a permanent solution for a failed valve
