You sho8odnt start the vibrato so close to picking the note, you need to give the note time to sound, vibrato like you say is like singing. The thing with singers and vibrato is they don't use it until their voice begins to fade. The quicker you start using your vibrato to sustaine the note and note aing the note, the more organic it will sound. You could also benefit from slowing it down like 30 percent. The width of your vibrato is perfect but the speed and timing needs a lot of work still.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This is an exercise in continuous vibrato. Also - my belief is that vibrato is a personal thing and what separates players - there is no ‘perfect width, speed and timing’ - all of those perimeters are different from player to player and there is not one way you SHOULD do it. There are many ways to create emotion in music, whether your vibrato is huge, subtle or non-existent. Good technique is one thing, but at the end of the day it sounds like you are suggesting there’s a set way art and music should be exercised, and that I just can’t agree with.
