Thanks for posting your lectures! I go to a small school and the only Biochemistry professor is notorious for not wanting to teach and cut corners. This will prepare me greatly for the MCAT I appreciate it!

Professor Ahern, thank you the lecture! I have a question about the initial stage when sodium gate open and sodium flush in, does it change the concentration gradient of sodium across the membrane? So it will be high inside and low outside? If so, move sodium out of cell wild be down its gradient, it won’t need the sodium patassium pump?

Thank you for sharing these videos! ...Doesn't Tyrosine have an ionizable group? Tyrosines R group would lose a proton and have a negative charge at a pH above 11 (Y's pkar is 10.5)???

I hope this message finds you well. I recently watched your video lecture on enzymatic reactions and found it to be very informative and insightful. I appreciate the effort you have put into explaining the concepts in a clear and engaging manner. During the lecture(about 45;00-46;00), you discussed the relationship between enzyme concentration and the maximum rate (Vmax) of a reaction. I wanted to share an observation that I believe might be of interest to you and your viewers. Generally, when the concentration of enzymes is doubled, the Vmax is also expected to double, as it would allow for more substrate molecules to bind to the enzyme at the same time, thus increasing the reaction rate. However, I understand that this relationship may not always hold true for all enzymes and substrates, as enzyme kinetics and reaction conditions can vary. Additionally, some enzymes may be subject to regulatory mechanisms or other factors that can affect the relationship between enzyme concentration and Vmax. I hope this information is helpful, and I would be delighted to hear your thoughts on this matter. Once again, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us through your video lectures. I look forward to learning more from your future content.
