I had the pleasure of attending this concert in the eighties with my mother. I had been a longtime fan of Linda Ronstadt at that point, but my mother did not listen to her music regularly like I did. Upon hearing the first note of this song my mother said "You are right she does have a wonderful voice!"

Nadie ah dicho que supera a nadie ! Nuestra Lola en sus buenos tiempos , nadie le pisó los talones! Y una lucha Villa, no se diga! Pero lo que se admira de linda, es que sin dominar el idioma, canta como como pocas! Eso es lo admirable, que bueno que nuestras. Cantantes hubieran cantado en inglés sin hablarlo ! Esa es la gran diferencia!!!!!

Me dejas sin palabras! Linda! El falsete , es súper difícil! No todas las cantantes de ranchero lo pueden hacer! Pero se nota que cuando naciste, tu primer llanto fue en falsete ! Ciento más orgullo de ser mexicana ! Mil gracias por cantar nuestras canciones ! Y pensar que entre mi propia gente hay muchos que no le gustan la música bravía , y andan mascullando canciones en otros idiomas, que bueno que sean versátiles , pero sin menospreciar lo nuestro!

The queen of mariachi, I notice she saves her voice on stage as compared to her album versions. She's still amazing though and nobody does mariachi better than her. Her voice is incredible.
