Ahhh it's a thing!! Because our family saw one of these on the lake in Potsdam, Germany and we were so confused! Next day we were sure it was just a group hallucination. It's super cute!

I like it. It's like an escape pod from a bigger boat. There is an overall "where's the rest" feeling to it. But it's interesting, not too sure of the uses for it, or how it would handle the wake of nearby vessels--even a jet-ski.

A fool and his money easily part ways. Make a nuclear power plant with electric motors then you'll really be doing something viable for future transportation not these waste of money EVs depending on batteries charged with unreliable energy sources.

Seems unlikely..just do the math. At 65 ft it’s 50 tons you need at least 2x 80kw motors run them at 75-80% to get to a decent 6-8kn. Est use only for engines makes then 125kw for 2 engines. That’s per hour. Fill the whole boat with lithium batteries let’s say 500kw.. that’s 4 ton extra… In weight. At zero sun you can go 4 hrs. Not enough to take you through the night… any boat can float across the ocean it’s just not a realistic presentation. The amount of solar here is not enough to keep up with 2 engines running, just from experience. They can just top up unless you quadruple the surface. Unless you put some sail up this doesn’t look like an ocean crossing boat. Correct me if I’m wrong.

NO way that boat can go more than a short distance with that small amount of solar panels. Green B.S. Especially if you are also running air conditioning, fridge/freezers, lighting, etc.

Most of the information you asked is in the description box. But i agree, this video would have been much more informative with some commentary. From the description- "Azura Marine claims that the vessel can continuously cruise thanks to its large 10 kW solar power system and 60 kWh battery pack." Additionally it has 4 cabins for upto 8 people. Looking at an article on the cat, the cruising speed 4.7 knots with a maximum speeds of over 9 knots, but this higher speed would require the battery and would drain it fairly quickly. The system on a sunny day can produce about 45kw/h of power, and back in 2020 it cost €525,000 ex-shipyard. Their is apparently an Aquanima 45 in the works, with 5 cabins announced back in 2020 - hopefully it has already been produced.

The beam on that thing makes it not economically feasible for the Med. For comparison it is close to the same beam as M/Y Madsummer. So Silent 120 is 36.74 meters long with a beam of 13.85 meters. M/Y Madsummer is 95 meters long with a beam of 14 meters. So stern-to docking in the med will cost you the same as a boat almost 3 times your size. Furthermore it is now too wide to park houseside in most of Florida as it would block passage. Past a certain point catamarans just do not work in the real world.
