Nice video runs good. I just bought a SWDR9 in Minnesota for 1,500. Needs a little work but it’s all there. 👍

Too much choke on the first try. Too rich runs cooler, doesn't warm as much. If it doesn't "catch" on diesel, just switch back to gas before it dies. Been running a cloan to this for over 50 years, (since I was 10) so I know.

The man on the tractor has been running a WD9 one for that long too. This was probably the second time he had started this particular tractor after buying it, so we were still learning its quirks.

+1968IH The thing is, you'll see dually one ton I.H's but they're not equipped with a pick up box. They're all flatbeds or dump beds. Mine has the slab sided "Bonus Load" box with fiberglass fender extensions. Mine had what I was told a 4 speed. Even the knob has the 4 speed 'H' paateern but the shifter wouldn't budge. I removed the cover boot and sure enough, it's all rusted. I sprayed it with penetrating oil and freed it up. It's got a FIVE SPEED! "YEAH, baby, YEAH!" (in Austin powers accent) Now, let's hope it's a 5th overdrive and not 5th direct. I read that all the 1300 series of my era had no choices for ratios but were 4:88 exclusive. My diff isn't a Dana 70 but a huge, round pumpkin'd one with "I.H." stamped in the axle ends. If you would go to my gmail, we could chat further and I'll send photos. This is my 18th International since 1977. [email protected]

Last Friday I went to the Sweet Grass hills to start up and bring home IH 1100 truck. I drag it out from the shed by a tractor. After few minutes battery was in and I realized that engine is seized. I try drag it on the field with different gears in but engine was stuck solid. I remove flywheel shield and use pry bar to spin the engine. With lube in each cylinder after few minutes engine was freely spinning . Spark plugs in and bam here she goes without any problems. After 10 years in the barn truck start up and drove home like dream. International trucks are amazing.

Dude, Scouts were Scouts...fullsize was fullsize. None of the sheet metal is the same between the two. Just Like the Early Bronco was different from the same model year F-series trucks. That's just the way they did it. Why ask why? Drink Bud Dry and roll hard in genuine IH iron. Not at the same time, of course.
