On the back of the transfer case of the transmission. It is a black plastic case about 6 inches long and has three bolts holding it to the side of the transfer case

The only transmission fluid change I would recommend is the BG Flush at the dealership where they is the vehicles transmission pump to exchange old fluid with all new fluid so close to 95% fluid is replaced. Should be completed every 70k miles for about $135. I normally ask the dealer to watch to see the color of fluid change. Process only takes about 35 minutes

We were row H left of center at Pine Knob this is row 8 but they also sell a pit section with three rows of folding chairs so row H becomes Row 11. It’s pretty close and we didn’t need the monitors to see but the video makes it look farther away. This video is from an old IPhone XS (model 10)

I tried disconnecting the battery and also touching the positive and negative terminals after the battery was disconnected to discharge all the computers, and that did not work for me. My actuator was actually bound, and I had to loosen the bolt to unbind it.

Not sure but it was packed!

Just an update, you do talk about it. Follow up question, if a previous owner has messed with the timing, how do I make it "normal" again?

The only time you have to clock the actuator is if you open the actuator and take anything apart. I have a video on clocking too

They are great. The center cap keeps them on and I have had no issues at all. I am trying to find another set for 17 inch wheels but have had no luck

Use the fuse or add a fuse to run 12 volt power to the blue wire on the harness. Somewhere this wire fails and no longer receives the correct voltage

@@jakemir I figured I’d update you on how things went. So I took it to a shop and I asked them to take the piece off for me and I told them that they didn’t need to drop the transfer case to do the install. They ignored my note but took off the actuator for me and they tried charging me $1500 to fix it! I refused and I ended up fixing it in the parking lot while the actuator was off the car. All I did was pull the diff and 4wh and lo pieces and I configured my new actuator so that the car could understand that the diff was no longer locked and 4wh and low. Then I slid the old actuator back on and it worked!! Couldn’t believe it. The mechanic was laughing at me prior and told me there was no way to fix it unless I dropped the whole thing. Best feeling of my life driving away 😂😂😂

That’s great to hear! All of Toyota’s single rod actuators have a procedure but this being a dual rod they changed it to remove the Transfer case. The issue is the tiny o-rings on the rods can leak. Just be aware on how these small o-rings have springs inside that can flip and leak. I made a video to replace them
