Thank you! This movie has a special place in my heart, growing up in Siviet Kyrgyzia, I loved Abba. My friend and classmate moved to Australia and I moved to Canada and I missed her. And when we met finally after 19 yes or so, she said she also loves Muriel's Wedding. I love the plot of the movie very much. God bless.

This made my day/I was living in Los Angeles in 1994-I was 28 and brought back memories when I saw this movie with a bunch of friends these actors made me happy to see them 40 years later! But where is Toni Collette -and her handsome husband they couldn’t get them? / this was awesome awesome! -these zoom interviews are the pinnacle of pop culture Zeitgeist! ❤❤❤❤❤ 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺-and the funny thing was this really made me want to travel to Australia!

Unfortunately Toni was busy shooting Mamma Mafia at the time. But it was more a reunion of all the cast, but we wanted to have her feature in some way.

wow... it won a couple of short film awards eh?... i know it's 1996 but it shows the lack of depth in Oz productions. you'd think with such a porn name like Titsiana Booberini the main character would be well endowed and showing cleavage.... why not use a normal character name and write a better story?... and now it's 2024 not much has changed. Oz still can't make many decent movies.

Everyone should watch Muriel's Wedding at least once in their life. One of the best Australian movies ever made in my opinion, along with Priscilla queen of the desert. Funny and heartbreaking, very entertaining.

Being an Australian movie doesn't mean anything to me, it's just a good movie.
@snittyz6 ай бұрын
@Blood_Mac Being an Australian movie means something to me as it's rare to see one's self and culture represented in films and T.V. Everything is American, which makes it harder to relate to and it doesn't feel authentic. It all feels plastic and foreign.
@Pax_Mayn36 ай бұрын
@@snittyz I didn't even register that, I literally just saw it as an American film but the characters had accents, I only know about Toni. My point is that people put it in this little box, "it's my favorite australian film" when it deserves to just be "it's my favorite film". The location in the film could have been L.A. or new york and it would have been the same movie. When I say she's my favorite actress, I mean she's my favorite actress, not just Australia.
