جبراسلاسي اسطورة 5000 و 10000 لكن شبه مستحيل ان يواكب ايقاع 1500 القاتل. الكروج ينطلق في 600 متر الاخيرة بالسرعة النهائية المبكرة بإيقاع رهيب بينما انطلاقة هايلي تكون ي 200 متر الاخيرة..

This distance was rarely featured in competitions that’s why El Guerrouj never had a chance to run it. Plus he never put too much emphasis on indoor racing! El Guerrouj could’ve easily run 4:48 if he attempted it. He does hold the outdoor 2000m record at 4:44 though

fat cat what you said is absolutely true and which most people are not aware of , most runners that ran good times after all guerrouj it’s only because he was their pace maker , they would have never ran those times in races of their own , for example when lagat ran 3:26 and change when he came second to el guerrouj , he would have never dreamed of running that time if it wasn’t for el guerrouj

Donkey Kong You missed the point. Geb was a world record holder at 5,000, 10,000, and 42,000 (26.2 miles) yet it takes the premier miler in the world at that time a world indoor record to beat him in a ONE MILE RACE. Does that confuse you?

Yes, they are, and in that particular race, the only one I know of in which Geb and El Guerrouj faced off in the 5000m, Geb was a better tactician.

EL G still beats him. EL G was simply faster and stronger. Look at his two wins over Bekele in 2003 and 2004 at 5000, a distance he didn't dedicate himself to.

Geb beat el guerrouj in the 5000m at the 1992 world junior track and field championships. Geb's PR (the former world record) was also 11 seconds better than guerrouj's.

@lambielkwanfan I call Geb the greatest runner, but Bekele is the *best* runner. There's a semantic difference. Bekele's credentials have surpassed Geb's, making him the best long distance runner, but Geb's attitude, his inspirational story, his heart and all the records he set, Geb is the greatest long distance runner. Who cares? They're both unbelievable athletes, and so is Hicham el Guerrouj.
