I use the mixture of distilled vinegar, washing up liquid and salt on it coming through my block paving, it does EXACTLY the same. I know it sounds like an old wives ( mare 's😎 ) tail but I promise you it does work.

MCPA does the same and its cheap. Mix it with "Flex"Glyphosate for an all round very effective weedkiller. Do you ever use a pre emergence/residual herbicide on the graves?

Thanks for the excellent review on the Eliet Shredder. Here in the USA they are not seen on jobs at all but I have seen them on display at nursery trade shows. Impressive machines. I just am still not convinced they will do the job with larger branches very well with just a small 14 hp. motor. Any chance that you could do a video on larger, dried out material?

I have to cut a number of fishing banks which are quite steep and uneven. Strimming it is a nightmare and takes forever. Do you think the CL62 would be suitable. Its a mix of long grass and brambles. Any idea where I could pick up one at a decent price - new or used.

Hi Scott, I’m in dire need of a new long reach hedge trimmer, and while I’m far from a convert just yet, I’m tempted by a Stihl battery unit, the HLA85/86 with an AP300, as I can get a good price for one and know they’re popular with people like yourself. My only concern is if it has the grunt that you come to expect from a petrol unit. I have smaller units for the real rough work but it’s still good to have some decent power in the long reach? Thanks

How does this compare to a westerman brush Scott?
@scottellwoodgardening287
@scottellwoodgardening287 4 ай бұрын
For me this is loads better. The Westerman head is bigger so if the area is uneven it will leave patches and it runs too fast which goes through heads faster and doesn’t clean as well. The heads are also very expensive compared to my machine. I know a few users who don’t like the weatherman they bought but most go to it as they are cheap initially.

@@scottellwoodgardening287 I was interested in buying a Western man and hired one for the day to try it out I had 3 jobs booked in for it I wasn't happy with the finish at any of the jobs and didn't invoice any of the clients for the work I took it back to the place I got it from and told them I wasn't happy they still charged me for it. So I was down a days work (plus my helpers wage) and the hire cost Your comments feed right into my experience.

I've got 22 acres of grazing land Scott which I want to cut fairly low. Fairly flat but some minor slopes. I'm awaiting a demo on one of these. Any idea how economical they are. How much would it cost you to cut say a. 5 agree paddock or a football pitch? To date I have cut with a compact tractor with 1.8m flail mower using red diesel and to be honest it still leaves quite a mess (clumps of grass). How will this compare mate.
@scottellwoodgardening287
@scottellwoodgardening287 4 ай бұрын
You can cut a normal football pitch in 10 minutes and at a petrol cost of around £3 so it’s very economical. It likes flat areas not so much up and down areas as it’s a big deck and does scalp.

Hi Scott, just come across your channel and this video. I've been day-dreaming about a Vector 4S with the tracks. You mention at the start that you were thinking of a Vector but it had a couple of things you didn't like. Would you mind saying what they were? I'm in N.Ireland and haven't been able to get a look at a Vector yet. Currently using a Bearcat Chipper/Shredder (2 separate chutes) and totally buy into the shredding on site system. Saves so much stress and effort. Bearcat is a toy compared to your machine! How do you find the size of the machine in the van, particularly if you're taking bags of material away? Have you found it to be a bit cumbersome and takes up a bit too much space? You're happy you still have plenty of space around it to bring stuff away? Congratulations on the new machine, enjoy it and I've subscribed to see more!
@scottellwoodgardening287
@scottellwoodgardening287 4 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. The tracks sold it really as the vector I looked at was on wheels. It does take up a good bit of van space but it’s better than towing a chipper or trailer. Since I sorted the initial problem it’s been a great buy. Would definitely recommend this model.
