Beautiful! There's two parts to this song and all others like it ---- the guitar part, and the vocal part. The satisfaction of singing and playing a Big Bill Broonzy tune is wonderful, and a role model for everything else.

The version from Music from the Big Pink, and another on from 1983, both with Danko singing is better. The Big Pink one great, because that is the original Band. However the one from 1983 have the video of Rick singing which makes it better to watch.

Really helpful, thank you! I think your rendition is faithful and the camera angles help.

Don't know if you'll see this Alex, but hope your doing well. I admire your funkiness very much. For me, it's always, always about the groove and you sir sure as hell got it. Haven't heard much about you since your great work with Jerry Harrison, but hope your still at it. Also, I happen to be playing with one of your old bandmates from Tom Tom Club (Victoria). Wonderful lady, for sure. All the best to you.

I really loved Danko and The Band performing this musical treasure. I have to admit that this version has nestled itself in the first position. I just enjoy singing voices together, harmonizing and everybody doing their interpretation and enjoying themselves. Music does NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! I regret it has taken me so long to discover this song, I've sung and played in a pickin' and grinnin' group, and this was one of my contributions. Absolute masterpiece, the more people join in singing the better it gets. What a precious gift these videos here for so many people to enjoy big time! From the bottom of my Dutch heart I thank you for sharing this gem.❤❤❤

I think that I have most of your courses from Homespun. I watch for the sales so I can get all of them. You are an awesome teacher! I’m working on the “Easy Steps to Acoustic Blues Guitar.” I thought to myself, “I wish that some day I could attend a live workshop with him” because you just seem so patient and kind. Nice to have people like that in the world. Now... I looked at the production date...2005! I wondered, “How old is Happy Traum now?” I felt a bit of sadness that you might be “gone.” Here you are! Still giving of yourself with kindness! I have to say that I couldn’t believe my eyes. I called to my husband to come watch. I told him your birth year and he said, “He looks like he’s 60!” You also sound like you did on the earlier recordings, strong voice and great playing. I hope that those watching this video will get some of your courses from Homespun. You do a great job of explaining why you are doing what you do so one gets the theory in a painless way. Makes it easier to navigate the neck. Thanks so much Happy! For those who may read this comment...I’m not related and I’m not an advertiser for Homespun! Lol
