Like how various styles feel and behave throughout the wearers day to day life, and the problems, or advantages that come along with each design, and the materials used to make it. Ornate filigree, and open relief-work is my favorite for objet d'art. Because they showcase the artisans skills in a safer format. Engagement rings are on someones finger, on their hand, and constantly being physically interacted with. From running ones fingers through ones hair, to trying on knitwear like sweaters, or folding a cable-knit throw. Then there's the trips to have the prongs checked and have it polished up every so often. Over time the intricate details get worn down, and that's not ideal. Ya know what I mean jellybean?
