Every new CVT we've tested in the last few years simulates ratios or gears, otherwise people would not buy them or complain about the constant rpm's!! 😄

hey, I wanted to know, is the 450+ exciting enough that i can just choose to go with that over the amg 53 4matic+? Will i really be missing out on an experience if i don't go with AMG? I'm in this dilemma because I actually do want the best range so I don't have range-anxiety as a new EV owner, but I on the other hand also want the very best experience that is worth every cent.

@@GalimotoMedia I haven't tried them out yet. My main thing is that I would probably have to use them both as daily drives, for at least 2 weeks each, before I could be able to make a proper decision.

I don't want to be "that guy", but this isn't really a boost on/off challenge. This has more to do with gearing and low end torque. If you did this with a naturally asperated car you would get the same results. To test the boost, you'd need to do runs with the turbo connected and disconnected (which I know isn't practically possible) while allowing the engine to rev through its entire range.

Wonderful, thanks for these unique videos! A 1.0TSI pulling better than the A45S is hilarious. But to be fair, the A45S had much taller gearing as well in top gear.

What’s up with Mazda, Nissan and others using non forced induction engines in 2024? 2.0t would have done the job much better. Chinese offering much better tech and value.

Our best guess is that naturally aspirated engines are cheaper to build (win for Mazda) and cheaper to maintain or repair (win for the customer).

Those are some seriously impressive figures. I'd be far more interested in this engine option than the gas one here in the USA. Although as someone else said, this car has gotten uncomfortably close to the GLE territory.

Interesting price point the GLC is in, its slowly approaching the GLE, X5, X7, Touareg. However its still a good product with the 'bells and whistles' you need for a city car. You would think they have some magic under the bonnet with those 0-100 figures, haha.

I have a 1984 280s and I love how it sounds and it's fairly quick for a 156 hp car with a 4 speed auto slushbox but when something breaks, you're done. Almost everything needs a special tool and if you don't have a special tool, you gotta find another way to do it. There will always be a way to do something without the special tool but it will take 4 times as long (Edit: I also daily that car. I bought it as a daily because first: I wanted a cool car second: i can't afford a second car. Probably should have saved up money for a better daily)

Good observation, it started in second gear during test 3 (first full hybrid test) but then used first on the last run.

This is over a second slower than most V6 accords.. Mine can do this in the low 5s. 6.6 is great for a car in general but not for this one. It might be the elevation you are at also because that affects the HP on N/A engines

This was recorded at sea level and the 0-60mph time on this run was 6.30 seconds. Are you using proper GPS-based measuring devices or a buddy with a stop watch?
