I keep getting compliments on a Panama hat I purchased at the flea market. The thing is made in China and cost me 3 dollars but it has gotten me more compliments then any garment or accessory I have worn. It's amazing how many people love that hat style. Off white with a black band and the best 3 dollars I have ever spent bar none.🤠

I don't know many true cowboys that still wear felt in summer. Everyone wears straw western hats.

The panama hats are my favorite summer hat. They have a tendency to become discolored from sweat stains however. I also have linen and cotton newsboy caps. I prefer the linen because it is lighter then the cotton which can be a bit heavy.

Just to note 400F is 204C and not 104C as sub-titled. Does it really run that high? Wow.

I have a loose weaved paper hat I bought to get a better all around sun coverage than my baseball cap. Sadly it didn´t take long until I realized that the loose weave made for large enough holes for the sun to flash my eyes, making it unusable with sunglasses and problematic without during the sunnier times of day. I´m considering whether to get one with a tighter weave or try to sew cloth to the underside of its brim to see what I could make of it.

For working in the garden I like wearing a straw gondolier's hat (you didn't mention these!); I don't have the courage to wear it out on the street, though. I've got a boater I originally bought decades ago (found a hat stretcher at an antiques store that I use to keep it sized), but there are fewer and fewer occasions when it would be appropriate to wear it nowadays without engendering snickers. I did find some cotton/linen scally (flat) caps that make decent street wear.

How do I get rid of all the hair under the blade after each pass? Knocking it on the counter doesn't work well and I ain't about to unscrew the whole thing every time

My father showed me how to tie a Half-Windsor but i never liked the lopsided look. In my opinion, ties look best with even knots.

My mother’s side of the family has a tradition of giving men who have reached adulthood a gold ring with an onyx stone in the shape of an oval. I normally do not wear rings, but for formal occasions I wear it on my right ring finger as a means of showing love/devotion/loyalty to the family.

Only time I saw anyone wear a paper hat is when I worked for a newspaper printing the newspaper. Some guys made a hat from the paper by folding the paper.

Personally, I am against wearing a hat in a car, but when I am the driver and the sun is low in front, I prefer the use of a baseball cap to the car's sun visor. When I am looking around, such a cap has the advantage of automatically pointing in the direction I am looking. Also, I only have to nod my head to adjust the cap to block reflected sunlight from windows of other cars etcetera (quicker and safer than having to adjust a sun visor by hand each time).

Thank you , my English grandad wore silk lined wool caps , even in the summer if he was going out . Remember wool also wicks in the summer and keeps you warm when wet in the colder weather .

Baritsu adopted the cane from la canne in Savate. They weren't the first group in the UK as French things were often considered poorly there. La Canne de combat is still practiced in France today and while a separate organization, is often associated with Savate et Boxe Francaise. At least one substyle of savate still teaches the use of a sword cane.

Men with GOUT, usually from an excessively fatty diet, have painful joints in feet, knees and legs. People with kidney disease develop gout in their teens and 20s. It was one of the first clinical signs.

The original Panama hat is made in Ecuador. In the Province of Manabi. In a place called Jipijapa. They even produce a foldable hat that does not wrinkle. The fiber is so flexible it folds

OK fellas. All these hat videos are great, but you haven’t addressed the elephant in the room… Hat hair! It seems if I put any type of hat on even for a few seconds, my voluptuous hair is flattened like a pancake, seemingly irreparably so. Please make a video about it 🎩

@@Stormin2548 yeah exactly. Honestly, the only time I can really get my hair to do what I want is right after the shower, when I’ve dried off but the hair is still a little damp. Once it dries, I’m SOL

Another great video from Preston. Anyone from the Twin Cities area is ok with me. I aspire to live there someday and become a proper gentleman. Would love to hear you sing some Frank Sinatra songs in some videos soon. I just found out that you have that in your repertoire. I'm also a big fan of Mr. Sinatra and have helped my wife to become a fan as well.

My Dad owned a hat shop here in Detroit called LOUIE THE HATTER. It was a very successful store, but declined after the riots here in 1967. This was a good video, very comprehensive & accurate. I gravitate towards pork pies and trilbies. American men need to cool it with the baseball caps. I wear my Olde English D cap to a ball game only. Hate to see them in places like restaurants. That's not only rude, but low class.

i’ve been wearing Levi’s for 60 years. I remember the selvedge of the good old days. First few washes they were furry. The 501 STF are no longer selvedge, but they are the best looking and fitting jeans for around $50 for me. Only the 501 STF have the smaller back pockets that are a little higher than the front pockets, but not too high, which to my eye is proportional. I hate having back pockets riding on my leg. I can’t pay for updated selvedge. Too much!
