There's no way to compare eras, especially looking at the advancements in the equipment, in training and all the rule changes (although I would like to see today's players play a half dozen games in late 60's gear, especially the goalies!). I grew up watching Orr, he did things no one had ever seen before. Every time he had the puck the potential for 'magic' was there... (I also would have liked to see Orr with the addition 10 feet inside the blue line!) I'd like to think in an alternate universe Bobby Orr never had any knee injuries and was healthy and played for 20 years.

I am old enough to have seen all of "Newhart" live, but was too young to understand fully "The Bob Newhart Show" when it was contemporary. I don't think Mary Frann was overally thrilled about having an eight-year show being a dream, yet alone bringing Suzanne Pleshette in. This is EASILY one of the five greatest series finales in TV history. I know that Suzanne Pleshette, whom I adored and met once (she was amazing and hilarious) for about eight seconds was classy and just walked out during the rap party, but what was done was done. I am trying to find some more detailed reporting about it to see if she openly discussed it. Sadly, Mary Frann died in 1998 of a heart attack at the age of 55, and yes - we really did like those sweaters.

Bobby Orr was my childhood hero and the greatest hockey player ever. I'm just chagrined big time that his politics are so horribly disgusting. I guess it's due to his utter lack of education.

@@rickbrenner7743 I was disappointed, too, but realized they are what they do on the ice, fields, or courts. Away from the game, he’s entitled to his political opinion, and as far as I know hasn’t used any inflammatory rhetoric that would cause me any extra pause. And he is among the plenty of smart people who didn’t opt for higher education.

@@petegoodwinboston4825 Yeah, one should never get to know their heros too well! I wouldn't call Orr all that smart. Just a great athlete. Have you read any of his books that he wrote himself? I was shocked. The writing was about 3rd grade level.

12 years later to the day, 12-8-80, the two teams hooked up again at the Orange Bowl, on a Monday Night. The Dolphins won again, this time in overtime.
