Just got my customers 1262-01k running again today. Contactor melted down. Compressor says 1969 on tag. Schematic unreadable. During the rewire I noticed there is a wire that wraps around the Compressor and runs to the terminal side of Contactor I can't figure out what that is for. Say what you want but the thing has cooled her house for decades and her last electric bill was $103.

Problem is, it's not just the ducts. Houses nowadays are so poorly build, it's unreal. I bet you if you start inspecting the insulation, you will find so minimal insulation just barely passing the code. Price tags of all those houses are pure scam. Well overpriced from any point of view.

I know you're doing a get-in and get-out job here, but if this was your own home, would you not take an extra 30 seconds to do it correctly? If so, why not for your customers?

Is brazing different from the real welding for steel?

I’m not hating on the work brazing is unnecessary on a residential system. Then pressures are not high enough and there is plenty of soldering equipment that hold stronger than a braze.

So I am curious why do you go through the process of brazing when using the correct soldering equipment will accomplish the same result and if you use the correct materials a better stronger result than brazing? This is not opinion based is manufacturing specs. So it’s not hack or cutting corners.

Great video. As an Air Force aviation mechanic this isn’t a difficult set of instructions. To those that have issues with stripping screws, a bit of advice. The screws are self tapping so all you have to do is get the screws started (by hand). Once they are all started, then use a drill that isn’t on the highest torque setting and the screws will align each panel. I’ll happily provide a video upon request. Not difficult at all. And this is from an aircraft mechanic that had to make panels fit for airframe specific aircraft. Hours upon hours of bullshit. 😂

I finally had one of the dozens of Bosch units we put in have a problem! 2018 3 ton unit was not turning the outdoor fan motor on, would bump the motor if I tapped on the relay on the board. The new board is an updated design, and comes with the whole corner panel, heat sink, etc. all pre-assembled.

When I press my Goodman condenser contactor in everything comes on and the line is cold but it's losing 24 volts somewhere. I can't figure out where. Can you give me an idea of where to start diagnosing if it's a bad board? Can the contactor still be bad even if it works when you manually press it in?
