My good friend and i have Show Type Racing Homers. Did you ever think about buying some show type racing homers for your race team? Our birds are breed to get rid of the many flaws of the racing pigeon. They have longer keels, tight vents , stronger wings and backs, stronger necks, shorter legs, and a streamline head. A few years back, my friend sold a group of young show type racing homers to his friend who wanted to get into racing pigeons. My friend helped him to get the birds trained and believe it or not his first year racing he won 6 out of 7 races and third in the 7th. Just a thought to maybe help you build a dominant race team.

Great video, Dan. I really like that you are capturing the process of racing pigeons at the club and when they arrive. I wish that the technology was available to capture the times long ago when we put rubber race bands on at basketing. Love following your journey. Cheers mate.

9th club and 9th federation shows what brilliant standard of club you're racing in. Well done on the result, brilliant achievement for that bird. I always liked racing hens at that distance I think they try harder to get back to the nest than the cock.

I rescued a young racing pigeon yesterday who showed up at my place. Caught and called the band in. The owner was here in about 2 hours after finding him. Of course, the bands were owned by the breeder who was the first contact. Okay, now I am hooked because the breeder and the owner offered birds as a reward. Here I am enthralled in watching all of the videos. What is the best advice and loft ideas you can give?

Your interpretation of the RPRA rules is correct. That hatch is closed and the bird can't clock, therefore it meets the requirements in my view. I have seen plenty of pads situated as you described, with a hatch to close the loft off.

Hi mate just a question for you if you jab your pigeons for PMV do you keep them in after for a bit ? I think ivd made a mistake taking them the next day down the road which was yesterday 40 miles training ( they've done before 30 same direction ... Out of 20 ... I'm short 11 hope today some off them will come back ... I'm I to blame you think ?! Coz I'm so mad with myself now Cheers
@howtotrainyourpigeon23 күн бұрын
Any vaccination is likely to cause an immune response in any animal, ourselves included. I think because the body is exposed to a much higher dosage than it would be if naturally exposed to pathogens by say, breathing in a cell or two, the immune response is flat out straight away. That can be tiring and stressful on the birds so yeah I wouldn't train for a few days. However, it's not like you've jabbed them with a live pathogen so I wouldn't have thought the effects are so severe that they can't get home. Probably more likely they got in with another batch or hit by a falcon and scattered. Hopefully they'll work their way back in.
@johnc937523 күн бұрын
Well thank you fingers crossed I'm hoping they will come back
