Well done! Thanks for sharing your tips and techniques. I was inspired by your use of an alcohol blender pen to try try it on some newly acquired oil pastels (water soluble and regular). I'm brand new to oil pastels and almost got rid of the set that wasn't water soluble because the only blending/smoothing option I was willing to use was a q-tip. (Blending with your finger works well, but I don't know what they put in those things, so no thanks.) Long story short, lo and behold, an alcohol blender pen did an AMAZING job for both smoothing and blending the non-water soluble oil pastels. (It worked on the water soluble version, too, of course.) The brand I used was Mont Marte, but I found it also worked with the water soluble brands of Portrait (by Crayola) and Munygo. As a side benefit, once the oil pastels are activated with either water or alcohol, they no longer smudge. Since the blender pen worked so well, I'm now wondering if I can use the same technique to cover more area (large backgrounds, for instance) if I use a little alcohol on a cotton ball or pad instead. Hmmmmm. 🙂

I have this set some of the pencils go down great and other colors do not and this is all on the same paper which is odd...I can't wait to see what you think about this but the colors are beautiful!

Hi Wendy! These are lovely Colors and appear to be an addition to most sets. I love all the muted colors and think they would work out good with the Arrtx Colored Pencils. I use the Colors of the World from Crayola for the same reason, Thank You very much for Sharing!💜💜

great pages, you are encouraging me to pull out my Disney Thomas Kinkade.... I have only ever started 1 page. Super intimidating.

The wreath you don't like. Made add some pink on the outside and in the middle of the circle. Then use a blender pencil, and that will soften the colors and pick up the colors in the wreath.

I giggled when you talked about colouring in a couch book… all my books are couch books since I don’t have a craft room anymore. 😂 pretty pretty pages this month, I love the colours on the van page in the Afrika book. Hill/sky/water/clouds, I don’t think that it mattered. I’ve seen someone colour bushes to look like fog before and it turned out gorgeous.

Great pages! I love that you try new things all the time then if they work out you teach them to us. I really appreciate that as I have a tendency to find a rut and stay there😂😂 I have six more pages to go in my couch book it’s a Korean one with a paintbrush and blue door with garden on front cover. I’m using colored pencils on it though and it’s much easier than a normal book because there are multiple copies of each page and they are pretty simple. But as you said that’s what I want when I’m relaxing.

Your Disney pages are amazing. I find that paper the hardest paper to work on. I also feel the same way as you, it depends on my mood and how much I'm motivated. Your coloring is beautiful! I've recently been trying to go back and work on pictures when I first started coloring and fix them or redo them because my coloring and and my supplies are lot different from when I began. I use acrylic markers for my Disney books. They work great. And the ones I use you don't have to shake. Which is a bonus. I have finnhomy and Arrtx ones. They don't smell or bleed through. Highly recommend them.
