I'm not the video creator but this is a mission in this video game. These games focus on small-scale fights in war, so instead of huge cities they often focus on small towns. The game is focused on realism, so instead of taking a smaller city like Giessen and pretending it's tiny, they try to remain authentic/realistic and so they take a truly tiny town like Sichenhausen and use that instead! I'm not sure if the Sichenhausen map is truly accurate, but many of the Combat Mission games use real-world city maps to accurately place buildings, hills, rivers, etc to try to accurately reflect real life!

Very interesting. Never thought our small village would make it into a video game😂 The buildings look different but the landscape is truly similar. You can take a look at Google Maps or street view. Thank God the Sowjets never came here. But there have been plans in East Germany to attak West Germany ar the border near Fulda, about 35 miles away from us. And on their way to Frankfurt the Sowjets would have came here.

@@sichenhausernidder-narren4415 Very interesting to learn! So it seems in simulating a cold war this town is an important border area each side would want to control. The game developers probably saw how close to the line it was and determined it was a strategic point.

@@WekBenHelix indeed our home area was a strategic point. Do you know Point Alpha at the border between GDR and FRG? This Point was installed by the US Army because they feared the Sowjets would cross the border there. Its about 50 miles from Sichenhausen. They would have moved from Fulda (20 miles away from the former border between east and west) to Frankfurt (about 60 miles) and from Frankfurt to the former capitol of Germany, Bonn. Point Alpha is a museum now where you can see the plan of action the Sowjets created to start their invasion in West Germany. We only have small towns and villages so they thought it would be the easiest thing to cross the border here.

If this is the type of thing you are into , absolutely, you will be hard set to find another game that does what this one does. I’ve been searching since 2007, haven’t found one yet.

@@pinkgorrilavrunfortunately no, not that I am aware of. You can purchase on Slitherine or on Battlefrront.com but they are most likely always going to be the same price.
