If you strop a blade before it gets dull it will stay sharp a lot longer and if you want to clean a blade, don't rub oil on it, wash it with dawn dish soap and water, rinse it, then apply some oil if you want to the edge. Knowing what you are doing makes a big difference in life.

I just ordered one. I’m a big Benchmade fan for better or worse. Don’t have a ton of knives so they all serve a purpose. Have a Grip with gray g10 and 20CV and that thing is a tank. I wanted an OTF but I wanted a practical one for EDC not something “tacticool”. Appreciate the review and I feel good about buying it after watching.

They make that blade coating on purpose. Oregon State pays them to make it easy for identification incase someone gets stabbed with it. Holds fingerprints and dna well. Why do think Benchmade is still in business charging $500 a knife? Government contracts.
@DogshitArgument9 ай бұрын
Conspiracy brain is so toxic that it infects every aspect of life, somehow your anti-govtard brain can't conceptualize why they would have coating on a rust-prone steel like Cru-Wear except for government desire to... catch criminals who use benchmade shootout knives for criminal activity??? How does this work in your mind? Regardless I don't know why you lie about how much they charge for their knives either, their knives are typically a little over a hundred or closing in on the $200 range for regular folders, and then for autos it goes much higher for obvious reasons. Frankly the price of their knives is not crazy considering it's USA made.
@InitialFailureАй бұрын
Is that why that coating isn't on the CPM-Magnacut blades? I really hate people on the internet who just say things for no reason. I mean, really, you just made that up. Out of nowhere, you just made it up. Why? Why just make stuff up? What did you get out of this? Why? Do you get bored in your parents' basement? What's it all about?
@Yeti21173Ай бұрын
Yeah I call BS on that. They’re coated because it’s cruwear which is technically not stainless and can rust easier.
@kjkblade6911 ай бұрын
Try kpl knife shield it gets rid of the tape residue and cleans blade, works great on coated knives.

Hey man, thanks for your review and sharing your feedback after carrying this OTF for a few months. These days there are so many fluffed up and highly edited videos with all the bling and glam in the world but very little relatable practical real life feedback that really helps me to make a decision as to whether or not the product fits my needs / lifestyle, etc. I have a handful of much more expensive OTF's and while I like them, and like a bunch of my knives, I really want an OTF that is specifically meant to be lightweight, solid, easy to sharpen, and has a good blade length / geometry for regular daily use. This seam's to be that knife. Your hands on feedback was really helpful. Thanks a bunch for that! P.S. Get yourself a good strop and maintain your blade.

it sounds cheap, too. yeah, that steel and coating doesn't cut it for my use. I even have a alloy plate boat. I don't do "plastic". Not sure if I could get over it. But I'm looking, at least at all options.

I just picked this one up and look forward to putting it through its paces as an edc. I've been edcing a Heretic-Manticore E and it's been great. I know others complain about the polymer handles but I actually like the way benchmade incorporated this into an otf. I wear shorts in the summer and this is perfect as a lightweight carry. I think the stigma for polymer in current knifes shouldn't be a concern. These are the same folks that carry Glocks for EDCs. My two complaints are the cru wear, I agree I would love to see this in a Magnacut instead. Another dislike of mine is the aggressive "bolster" area texture, itwill definitely shred and wear on my pockets over time. Great review on this knife. Quick story, I've had a "single action" halo III otf go off in my pocket and it did give me a decent cut but nothing too crazy and gave me a nice hole in my pocket. Its highly unlikely that you can get a double action to do this but single action like the Halo, let's just say I'm a little more careful.
@CJsStuff Жыл бұрын
At first I didn’t know how I felt about the cru wear, and then I had to touch up the edge and all it needed was a quick buff, so that was cool. Also totally understand not liking the aggressive texture on the “bolster”. I sanded mine down a little with some fine grit sandpaper

Forget the battery pack. All you need is some 14500 batteries (same size as AA, but 3.7 volts) and some C battery to AA battery converters. Example of batteries: www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-TR-14500-3-7V-1800mAH-Lithium-Li-ion-Rechargeable-Battery-Batteries-USA-/373002080253?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 Battery converters: LampVPath 10PCS AA to C Size Battery Adapter Case, AA to C Size Spacers, AA to Size C Battery Adapter Converter Case(10 Pack Black) a.co/d/0ZHbUhd

The 14500 rechargeable 3.7v batteries are great for modding any electric nerf gun. But some nerf guns need to be taken apart so you can bypass the thing that doesn’t allow too much voltage

If your not a cop or military, they won’t fix it when it breaks , not if it breaks
@CJsStuff2 жыл бұрын
Luckily, that’s not true. As long as you use the knife normally, they will fix any functions or hardware issues that anyone has with a Benchmade knife. The only thing that sucks is it can take a while for them to get the knife back to you. Also, if you don’t live near Benchmade, you have to deal with shipping. Here is the warranty page for more info: www.benchmade.com/warranty-service
