Skid row in Los Angeles is worse but I give Kensington 2nd place without a doubt but make no mistake Oakland is up there too….Oakland is either 2nd or 3rd…..I’m from the east coast but moved to California 5 years ago & to keep it 100 I gotta say Nothing on the east coast with the exception of Kensington is as filthy & destroyed as Skid row in Los Angeles or Oakland California…..

Thank you for the video, I like to watch videos of Camden. At 9:45 we see a beautiful parc. Does anyone knows the name of the parc or the name of a street beside the parc?

Sorry to say, Camden will never see it's glory again. At least, not in my lifetime...I'm 60. Too much crime and poverty, except in gentrified areas like around Cooper hospital.

Wow, you granted my wish (S 6th St, S 7th St, Newton Ave), that's so nice, thank you so much, I enjoyed the ride! Camden in the summer is much greener and looks friendlier, with all the nature growing up. Interesting ride! Like you I see a lot of beauty in this town. I believe that Camden has the potential to develop into a vibrant, interesting city. I wish all the residents of Camden a beautiful future and love & understanding between the communities. That's one thing I love about the internet and social media. Here are 2 people, one in the United States (you), one in France (me). We don't know each other, but you showed me (MEE!!) a certain place in Camden that interested me. That's so cool. 😊

@dietrikstein1871 it was my pleasure! You're in France? Wow!😲 I loved checking out this new area. Camden is a special place . There's a group I follow on facebook called We are Camden Roots, where people share their stories and pictures of their experience growing up there.. They have so much love for Camden. I'm hoping it can become that place again.

@@drivingadventures9020 That's very nice, thank you very much! I'd love to see S 6th St, Newton Av, S 7th St, and a few small side streets that you find interesting. Maybe it's convenient to drive from south to north (because S 6th Street seems like a one-way street, says Google Street View), but you'll know better than I do which is more convenient.

She asked in the video "when did this town go from good to bad?" It started in the late 60's when Camden's biggest businesses left. The NY ship company, RCA, and Campbell's soup are a few. Although Campbell's soup HQ is still there they don't make the soup there like they used to. Also," the great white flight " which is when most white people up and left the city. Some say because the businesses left and some say because black people were moving in in droves. It's up to debate of course. And the nail in the coffin of this once thriving city was the crack epidemic of the 80's. Quite frankly, today's opioid epidemic isn't helping the city from trying to revitalize the town. Hope this helps answer your question.

Basically, businesses leave, jobs disappear, poverty sets in. It's the same story throughout the rust belt. Look at Detroit, E. Cleveland, Cairo, IL, to name just a few. E. Cleveland and Detroit make Camden look good.

Like your channel, keep up the good work. If I may make a suggestion, make some more commentary, even just what street you are on.love to hear your thoughts on things. I used to live in Woodside and have researched its history. A sidenote, when you turned right on Queens Blvd to 58th Street, that street used to be called Betts Ave, after a resident from colonial times, that street ran from Woodside Ave, to Maspecth Creek where farmers would ship their products to Manhattan. Also on 58th just before 43 Ave, was the Covin farm house, British troops would patrol that Street and one time arrested Mr, Covin as he was working on his wood pile and his wife had to go see General Howe to get him released.
