Glad to hear you are making progress on your health issues. I love the beauty of bettas, but seem to never have great luck with them. So when I’m ready to get another I am going to get one from a reputable breeder.

At least rinse off anything you put in your tank. Maybe you did that already.

I bred bettas for the first time this year. I didn’t have a great survival rate, but I’ll do better next time. I’ve moved to southern Alabama to help out my Mom. The water here is liquid rock. I’m thinking of catching rain water and using that in the betta tanks.

Betta living with Panda garras in my tank

I made the mistake of releasing my new young red plakat instantly. The only fish in the tank (20g) are 6 otocinclus and 3 amano shrimp. He started chasing the otocinclus around instantly. He got up close in the amanos faces but didnt bite them but when anything swam shrimp or oto he would chase. He kinda threw me off because i thought he was a calm betta from the shop. The betta in the tank next to him would flare at him and my betta just ignored it entirely. Ive just put him in fish jail breeder box. Ill leave him there for a few days then try to release again.

2 babies are staying in my garden. I try to protect them from neighbors cat snd other animals. They looed not afraid of me.

I have three juvenile females in with my neons in a 10 gallon, I have a teenie baby female betta that needs to do some growing before she goes in the big tank. I usually keep single (obviously) males but wanted to try a sorority, so far it’s going great!

I lost my Bunny today.... I can not Shop crying

Its summer in my area and my tank is 31-35c. With this temperature, my betta is always resting and i dont know if thats a good thing. Ive been trying to cool the tank with ice bottles. The change is slow so im not too worried.

Hi! I am glad you are feeling better . Great to see you and your fish room update. It's ok to scale down . Don't get anxious about filming .we are hear for you. I enjoy all the things you post give your fur babies a hug and kiss from me. I have a 12 year old dog I know how precious they are as senior pet every day is a gift with them .I deal with chronic health issues as well .I had to scale down to 3 tanks because it was just to hard to keep 6 tanks in proper condition. Three is the right number now. I have 1 ten gallon with female Bettas, I have a 20 gallon with Mollies ,and another 20 gallon with goldfish. Do whatever you can manage reasonably . I just set up my new eheim aquarium with a lid today and I want to claim the break with the dictatorship of what is established in the new emerging world fashion of aquariums without a lid because of its political correctness or the nonsense that it may be.

I’ve used this type of tank with guppies. It is useful to raise guppy fry, the holes in the separator let the fry get to safety without stressing the mother. Two space for the mother and three for the babies

Betta fish can do fine in community tanks as long as you have lots of plants and floating plants with extensive root systems like water hyacinths. Maintain a ratio of 2.5 females to 1 male betta. Can go as low as 1.5 females per 1 male if you have lots of other community fish. Tank size should be 75G or larger.

I had 15 blue shrimps and my galaxy betta ate ALL of them it’s crazy haha
