I am glad Kathleen made sure that the question we all wanted answered wasn't side stepped. Also I am kinda bummed Dan Rather didn't ask Ad Rock about when he was in Dead Fucking Last and the album My Crazy Life.

Bro was baked. Remember watching that episode when it came out. There was a segment where someone was bowling down the hall and b boys were watching from the doorway of the green room, high AF.

Ad Rock's voice seemed a bit off on this one. Regardless, the Boys are always amazing!

The beastie boys were 3 young dudes just doing outlandish things in a crazy time where everyone wasn’t constantly offended. The girl they had dancing on stage with beer was the happiest person in the room, no one ever forced anyone to do anything they were uncomfortable with. She wasn’t a victim of anything except getting paid a lot of money and having fun while the crowds went insane cheering for her. And Ad-Rocks wife Kathleen is really acting like since the beastie boys had a blow up penis that he was a “total douchebag?” It was a world famous group doing shit that super famous live bands do. Her feminist obnoxious side really comes through with that because she LITERALLY performed shows in nothing but her underwear and had SLUT written on her stomach. I suppose that’s ok though?

That was glorious. Just absolutely loved it. I just found out yesterday that Kathleen and I were in the same grade at Lincoln High School. Someone posted a school photo of her and I immediately said "I remember her!" - which doesn't happen all the time. I mean there were 350+ kids in our grade. I didn't get to know them all. We must have been in a class together or something. I remember her being cool and a nice person - that's all I remember. Anyway, someone posted this interview with her and Adam and what a treat that was! And MAN is it ever awesome to see so many people that Kathleen has affected in so many positive ways. Of course, I knew of Bikini Kill when they were big - everybody did back then - but the music wasn't really in my wheelhouse at the time and even if it was...even if I'd gone to a show...and, frankly, I may very well have seen them somewhere at some point and just don't remember...I don't know if I would have recognized her or not. But GOOD FOR YOU, KATHLEEN!!! What an awesome surprise! Totally made my day. 😊

She is so wise and smart in an effective, simple way, only permanently quotable statements: "I learned more from our disagreements than our agreements", "Trump...so many women voting for their bad dads". It's awesome how she makes Dan Rather's question pretty clear. Everything she touches on that subject is so honest, yet understanding and tolerant of that chapter of his life. And Adam is awesome. So, best couple I've seen. Great interview

21:09 I really dislike how Kathleen speaks for Ad-Rock for almost 2 minutes straight and puts him to task. Let him talk about and answer the questions that were addressed to him. All 3 members (when all 3 were alive) have addressed their Licensed to Ill era misogyny and acknowledged how they have regrets. If she wants to add context to his answer and her perspective on it, that's great but it's his cross to bear and it felt like she was putting words in his mouth.
