And the landlords are the worst. The worst. Dont bother defending this. Youre talking to americans who work too hard to be stuck in crappy one bedroom forever.

You are one of those idiots he is talking about. There are MANY shitty landlords. But there are way more decent ones. People like you expect landlords to let you stay for free and led you destroy a place and not expect compensation.

not entirely true. especially where its most commonly used in the trades. you will earn much more money being specialised that someone who can do everything to an average standard. and more often than not, being so well versed in a particular craft means you have a skill set that is transferable within other trades allowing you to do those things better than someone who is a "jack of all trades" .

I really enjoyed this podcast. Going in to the dos and dont of property development and the good, bad and ugly things to look out for, meanwhilse providing stories of Alistairs life experience that has lead to him owning a historic estate agents. Top podcast 😎

25 mins in, and no reference to how the properties and business purchases were funded. Lovely to have a story, but not helpful for the audience without learns, it’s the interviewers job to draw the information out for the listeners.

Thank you for your comment. Alistair's situation is unique as he had support from his family in his early career. This isn’t a topic that is delved into on the episode because the method only relates to a small percentage of individual who may already have access to family resources. This episode is about the inspiring nature of Alistair’s journey. Recovering from bone cancer as a child, and then going on to carve his own success. Rather than taking the easy route and joining his family business (which he refers to in the episode), he used his resources, and stepped into a new line of business. He has an amazing journey with raw personal lessons that he shares in this episode. If you’re looking for finance related content please do check out our first episode with Michael Primrose. Thank you for watching!

In that case it’s very relevant to clarify that his parents bought the properties/business. Skipping that bit is rather misleading, he’s had help ‘carving his own success’ What’s the point in a property related podcast if you don’t share the facts of how properties and property business were purchased by a youngster. The fact it wasn’t mentioned shows that you recognized it’s not quite as inspirational when someone’s been gifted the resources. Whilst it’s awesome to see this lad has recovered from his illness and is doing well, people don’t come to a property podcast for heartwarming stories, they come to learn HOW people have achieved their successes.
