This was a great video. I appreciate you sharing. I am 16yr nurse looking for something different. You covered many of my concerns and I appreciate you sharing so openly. I have worked gero-psych for last 7 years. I feel the same way about my psych patients.....they deserve dignity and respect. However I only have floor nurse experience. I am worried that emergencies would not be my strong suits because I was never an ER nurse or ICU nurse.

Hi, do you guys have medical record tech/clerk in your correctional facilities? If so, do they directly work with patients or if they have separate office? Thank you 😊

🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯👌🏿👌🏿👍🏿👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥 My grandmother, dad and his siblings. I absolutely LOVE Jamaica and especially Jamaican cuisine. The cooking in and from Jamaica is magnificent as they haven't the need to drown every single thing in SALT because they masterfully use spices complemented with minimal sodium. Bravo Jamaica (I'm biased being a 1/4 Jamaican) !! I worked for Popeyes as a manager back in 1987 and I don't remember the Cajun turkey being available then. In the Orlando market initially, but it soon was available and I bought one and I concur with you that it's the very BEST turkey EVER. I don't remember how it's prepared directly from Popeyes, but I very vaguely remember that two methods were used before it's sold to the public, I just don't remember what those methods are. Next year I'll buy one again and thoroughly enjoy it. Happy 2023 Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Update 2023: Just got my PopEye's turkey yesterday, it was over $75 from the store. If you order and have shipped that bird is over $120 for direct from PopEye's.
@jeffg60089 ай бұрын
Great vid 👍 BTW, I know the pricing seems confusing but here’s the deal: It’s $99 to SHIP and the EXACT SAME Turkey is $49 if you pick it up at your local Popeyes. All same size…it will feed 8-12. But hurry…I just got the next to last one at my local Popeyes for $49, otherwise it would have been another $50 to ship and I probably would have passed. Hope that makes sense. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

I did a bit of comparing vids on cooking POPEYES Cajun turkey and I love your video the best by a LOT. You articulate well, you have a fabulous demeanor, and your presentation was terrific and I love idea of the cooking bag. One thing I found in common is most people cooked it at 300 for 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 hours which the consensus was that, "it was slightly overcooked" so I plan to cook for 2 hours then check it with the thermometer

Im in California and most hospitals hire anyone that applies, even fresh out of nursing school. I got hired onto the ED as a new grad and i wouldnt have done it any other way. As for the race thing i will say its cliquy at my place and alot of it comes from class (mostly race and where you went to HS). We had our cool kids zone and I always worked the reject zone. I noticed they worked us harder tho. About a year in a hurt my back really bad. 8 weeks and still recovering but cobsidering correctional nursing. My budy said its alot less physical then ED nursing so giving it a shot. I worked EMS and ER Tech and i was specialized in psych cuz i didnt complaon so might be a good fit. Im also from the hood and that might help since i relate to the pts a little. Im a little nervous but my experience with psych has been mostly good. 8 hour shifts and significantly better pay then the hospital, union, pension and 401k, 5% pay increases every year and occasional bonus.

That's awesome, Michael! After graduating in 2015, the only jobs that hired me on the spot were nursing homes. I worked night shifts and hated it until I landed in corrections. That clique shit is so childish, but it's everywhere 😂. And you'd definitely make a great fit. They'll scoop you up real quick with your experience. I love your nursing background. The perks you mentioned are the reasons I'm sticking it out. I can retire at year 10 if I want and start a new specialty. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.

Love this! Plz make more vids ab your time/stories abt being a correctional nurse! Jails in my area are allowing phones now only if they are kept in the nursing station. Have you always been allowed to wear nails/jewelry/pick your color scrubs? thats a blesss
@4CCrownofGlory11 ай бұрын
I'll definitely do that. Thanks for the content ideas. Technically, we're supposed to have short nails, but we do wear long nails occasionally. Always practicing hand hygiene and wearing gloves. There are also certain scrub colors we can't wear due to gang affiliation, so we steer clear from certain color scrubs. Other than that, we pretty much wear what we want as long as it's appropriate. Unfortunately for my facility, only administration is allowed to have their phones. Which is obsurb because we're all professionals and will be held accountable for our possessions. As a nurse working 12+ while having children and not able to have my phone on me is the most annoying part of my job. Other than that, I love what I do. Good luck in your position qnd thanks for commenting ❤
