This season was a kind of slow burn, but it builds to some really great moments. Elvi meeting Miller was great. Miller escaping his protomolecule jailers was sweet. And the other plot lines have not even wrapped up yet. They have some awesome moments too. Can't wait to see what you think of them!

The comparison for me is from one of the later episodes in Babylon 5 - an enemy created exact copies of the protagonists and the exact copies behaved the way the originals would and screwed over the enemy instead. Making AI replicas has a problem if they’re too accurate and not restrained. They recreated Miller, and Miller did what Miller does.

I want to play this game like Prime Minister Lin but not Lai. But Lin also represents the corruption of the system and Lai represents the correct way of how the system works.

From what has been shown. We actually no very little about the Emperor. He is the father of most of the young men in the show. He lets them operate freely only being stopped by each other. And he trust Chen with secrets. Everything we have seen about his character has been changed with new information. Is the change real is anything we have seen real.

It is indeed a political game for the Emperor whether it's for gaining his reputation over all nations which worth the most at that time or it's a trap in a trap for the 10+ political plans he had going. The Emperor is a job position that requires a lot of 'let go of kindness and morals', a full-time acting gig, seeing Qing is overall the most powerful nation in the story, you can tell The Emperor is definitely doing things right on the nation level, but to see the details or his day-to-day, really makes you to see the dark & ugly side of running a country especially in a feudal society setting. And the Emperor's game is always about keeping the officials in check in balances, get them to work for him and fighting each others at the same time, so no one gets too much power, that would be a real threat to the Emperor. i.e Promoting He Zongwei just to keep Fan Xian in balance.

CRINGE is the perfect description of the feeling I felt watching Emma with Dylan, but hey, the main thing is that the season as a whole is very good and as for the deaths having a big impact on the story and the audience, you know that we will get this and this is what caused me extremely disturbing feelings when I saw it for the first time

The Emperor's whole family went mad. I think it's in their DNA. Everyone in his family would do anything for power. Fan Xian is special because he didn't grow up in a palace. He received a good equality education in the Fan family. Had he lived in the palace, I think he would have been involved in the power struggle as well. We can see that Fan Xian is smart and good at everything. But the emperor was a very mysterious man who loved only himself. He has rights.

Emperor was power hungry since he was prince He has been using everyone and discard them as they serve their purpose like eldest princess or ye qingmei (fanxian mom) He is self obsessed to the point that he doesn't care anybody maybe expect crown prince He is using everyone to strengthen and improve crown prince so that he can take the throne smoothly

The Emperor in this show does the best of any show I have seen of being an enigma to his subjects.

Actually I side with the General here. As he said, they went with the riskier option with limited intel because Chrisjen wanted Marco alive which would have indeed helped her politically. The other option was far safer given the limited intel or simply not taking any actions until there was time for a solid plan with better intel, and better opportunity. As you saw at the end of the episode Chrisjen is doing any and everything to win...Marco being captured was just another deal on the board though it was a costly decision. And YES, the General actually does make a comment regarding the intel being limited despite what the Intel chick was saying about her "Confidential Sources" he also makes a comment telling Chrisjen that the boarding option would contain a high risk of casualties. The two options he presented was about the best the General could present given the demands for it to be right then and there.
