Probably the most informative video I’ve ever watched. No sponsor ads, no bs, just straight up information.

you have a great medium format setup. Is a mamiya/phase one digital back not an option? Combining it with the Mamiya glass or even with the Zeis glass. In terms of price, it is relatively affordable

I'm a male photographer, so I have no clue on what sizes to get for the dresses. Was it the same dress in different sizes, or did you go for whatever was the most common? Which is a large I'm guessing? or are most girls medium? anyway great video!

That holga 120n with a external flash...does it have a battery slot? The model of 120n sold at local amazon doesnt have. Or the battery slot is inside the flash (im very optmist today lol)?

10:10 - why don't you use a 2nd camera with another film loaded in it? Film cameras don't cost a fortune anymore. Some EOS3 or even EOS30 as a backup device would do the job.

This is a great video! Why the change of price for fall minis when clients get the same amount of images?

Some great tips there. My favorite was "speak life". I've not heard that expression before, but I like it.

Hello, Thank you for this video. I am just starting to dive into film just for the fun of it. I still have dslr lenses that I love and would like to get the film look. Something bugs me a little as a rookie: you mentioned that you can edit your shots in lightroom. Does this mean that the camera (aside from the film roll) also has a memory card? How is it possible to import images to a laptop starting from a film roll? Thank you!
@growinginfranceАй бұрын
she means she edits the film scans in LR. The film is developed and then the negatives are scanned into a digital format, often TIFF. These files can then be brought into LR and edited like a JPEG file.

Thank you so much Katie for making the time and effort to share your amazing skills! Can I ask, what time do you do outdoor shoots in the summer? It’s gets really bright here in the UK and I feel evening sessions maybe too late for little ones…

Kate, I'm a Novice. Wanna upgrade from my Eos Elan iie to a legit Pro film Camera but a part of me thinks that I'd be good with the 1N,& save myself hundreds of dollars,& the other part thinks, F- it, get a premium film maker for a bit more(Gemini Woes) Help a Brother Out.

Love these insights, especially on using planning apps! I've been blending this with boost app social to design eye-catching Instagram stories and reels. It’s subtly powerful for us photographers.

You should try the Ilford Delta film and use 24 exposure rolls so you don't have to waste shots. The Delta line has a finer grain and sharper details for professional use.

It’s so weird to me being a man photographing a wedding! 😂 I’m a freaking sports photographer and an athletes mom recommended me to her friend and the friend wants me to do her wedding. 😩 STRESSED. I have no idea what to do and I’m not out going. I don’t have to talk to ANYONE when I do sports.

Oh yea. I absolutely HATE talking to people. I just want to work and go home.

I’m shocked to learn an old film camera cost the same as a modern digital medium format camera. Shooting medium format film seems like a very expensive pain in the tookish

Here is my take as a hobbyist. AF is slow, it is slow even on GFX100s. I haven't yet shot with GFX100 II but I can imagine it being just a fit faster, not like FF or APS-C. Colors wise not much difference between 50MP vs 100MP but somehow I also see a bit better colors from my GFX50s than my GFX100s. Lens wise, you should have used 63mm f2.8 (if you like 50mm FF). 80mm is like 63mm and personally I like it very much. I haven't tried the new 55mm f1.7. Files wise my old PC was an issue with 100MP files but not much. This using C1. Hard drives here in US are dirt cheap. I do agree that business wise I wouldn't probably buy GFX.

I **love** my 50S ii... but I'm a hobbyist and probably the only goober who shoots it in Fuji JPG much of the time. It's utterly perfect for street, travel, and documenting family life if your kiddos aren't running around that much, pretty much like a giant X100V... with the sweet kit 35-70 it's not much bigger than a A7iv with a 24-105 and an ounce lighter. The lack of lenses and their expense keeps GAS in check ;) Like a lot of Fuji gear, it's a little weird and unusual compared to a garden variety CaNikon or Sony A*, but yeah -- I've never been the guy who clicks off 20-30 shots a second. I can get 5-10 beautiful JPGs in quick succession, it's sufficient. I'm the guy who takes 50 shots into LR but only imports the 10 best into my Apple Photos library.

the original holga what flash did you use, and does it just go off one power? or does it auto adjust depending on the focusing distance?

Thank you so much for the information , very helpful . So you don’t do any detail retouching when you send the full gallery to clients ? It is just a lot of images to edit I feel like , unless the preset makes them all look great.

I bought a godox flash when I first started with my GH5. I was considering purchasing Cannon's new flash the EL5 because it has the internal batteries. I ended up buying another godox but for my Canon and now I have a master and a slave. Now I just have to learn flash photograpy. 😊
