tensei is more for someone who has a smoother tempo. I had to tip 1 inch because it was so whippy. because of that it was hard to hit it in the center consistently. ventus feels more boardy and even through out the shaft, whereas tensei feels more kicky and lively. if you are like john rahm or sergio swing type, ventus is the way to go. quick transition and jerky swing. but if you have smooth swing like tiger, tensei is better

Is this recommended for beginners? I just bought some TaylorMade Qi irons, and added the blue TR graphites. Wasn’t really sure what the difference was between steel and the graphite shafts, is one more forgiving than the other? What would be more preferred for a newer golfer still learning his swing.

It’s really hard to recommend something for a beginner. Your swing will change rapidly so just go with something you are comfortable with now and have a fitting when you feel like you are ready for new clubs.

That seemed like there was a lot of epoxy inside the shaft. I thought too much epoxy inside the shaft can cause a weak point above the hosel.
@SydneyGolfTech
@SydneyGolfTech Ай бұрын
It definitely could cause a weak point, particularly if the epoxy sets really hard. The epoxy we use maintains some flex so it’s never been a concern for us.

Looking at armlocks currently, specifically the Sik version you had in play for a long time. Do you see much advantage with the Mezz (LAB) over the Sik. I'm finding the Sik putters are going for a little over $200 us so that might be an advantage over the LAB.

When i set my clubs I aim for D2, Irons and woods. 1 length of masking tape is 1 gram so I counter balance using masking plus I like a thicker grip anyway. The opposite way I have really low swing weights at C5-C8 here I would use a lighter 38-40 gram grip weight. to gain 4-7 grams at the in the head. I try too avoid loading heavy the grip or the toe as this just passes a new problem on regarding the shaft flex.
@SydneyGolfTech
@SydneyGolfTech Ай бұрын
There is always total weight that needs to be considered also. 2 clubs at D2 can feel totally different if the total weights are different and they often are.

Thanks for the video. My current clubs are Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal Pro with UST recoil graphite shafts. Which are very forgiving, but I do not like the sound or the feel. I went today and hit the zx5 with the recoil shafts. They felt better, and sounded better than the Mizuno's. The distances were very similar even though the Mizunos's lofts are 2 degrees stronger through the set. So I ordered a set of the zx5's.

In 95% of cases, the lie angle and loft can be adjusted by anybody with a putter loft and lie bending machine. There’s a few putters like LAB and LA that can only be done at the manufacturer though.

Hi Greg, another great video again, definitely the best explanation of the benefits of armlock by any content creator on YT, thanks again. I just have one question please. I am 6"3" proportionate length arms, wingspan is same as my height but everytime I pickup an armlock putter I feel like it way too flat and that I need something like a 85* lie angle or almost close to 90* and I know LAB comes with a max of 79*. Think Bryson plays his at 80 something degrees? What's your advice please? Vinnie, New Zealand.
@SydneyGolfTech
@SydneyGolfTech Ай бұрын
Hi Vinnie. Thanks for watching the videos. Most armlock putters are closer to 70 or 75 degrees and the SIK is one of the most upright at 78. Unfortunately the rules of golf only allow the putter to be made at 80 degrees and that’s why LAB set theirs at 79.

It would help if you hit the center of the club face. Hitting it low right is not very indicative of what the club head or the shaft can do.

Shafts are suited to the person not the head … you gotta go test them In it as others might have different results Ie I have the Denali black 60TX in my 10k head and it’s lovely .. I swing around 122 mph for reference
@SydneyGolfTech
@SydneyGolfTech Ай бұрын
Ping always make great drivers. However the head and shaft combination, along with the players swing type will help find the right shaft. The other issue is in the head weight. Ping make heavy heads so that has to be considered also.
@darveed62
@darveed62 Ай бұрын
@@SydneyGolfTech Thanks Greg. Was just keen to know if you have tested them. Counterbalanced shafts seem to work well in Ping heads due to the weight. I guess I'm on the mythical hunt for the perfect shaft as I've tried Kai'Li white, Tensei Orange, Graphite Deisgn BB (which I really like the feel of but just a tad too low in spin), Hazrdus Yellow and ACCRA TZ6. The problem here in NZ is finding a fitter that has access to most shafts.
