hello! I really enjoyed your work!! I felt it was such a beautiful, sad, yet sweet story. I thought a lot as I watched the family contrast with the child who had not yet thought deeply about death. Although the weight of the death experienced by the grandfather and the death experienced by the child were slightly different, the feeling of sorrow seemed to be the same. I really enjoyed the directing and expression. Thank you for letting me watch such a great animation! I look forward to your next work!! There may be errors in translation as we use a translator! TT I hope it was conveyed well.

Oh god damnit that ending. I thought for a minute that the kid was gonna take the photo out of its frame but then they turned it over to look at the photo again and I realized they were trying to reset and bring their grandma back. God DAMNIT. GOD. DAMNIT /pos Also the scene at the funeral, the kid is upset with their mom and looks to their dad for assistance but goes quiet when they realize how upset their dad is. Ugh I've experienced that so many times and it's so. Real. You don't understand why they're upset or sad but they're emotional and they don't need you bothering them over something that you understand isn't important rn

Our animation teacher showed your work to us on our meeting where we watch short cartoons for inspiration (We're animators too). Your work is really touching, i really like simple shapes and colours that you used. Imatiently wait for next projects! ❤

I remember seeing you in the animation labs and you were working on the 0:33 tamagotchi scene and I was literally playing my tamagotchi 3 desks behind you I should’ve said something !!!! Loved your film so much at the open show and I was so surprised to see another tamagotchi film~ 🐣🐣💓

This was so fucking good. The kid not knowing the concept of death and his only experience being with a tamagotchi is so realistic. Especially when he tries to fix it all by touching the back of the picture with a paper clip. Then realizing it ain’t that easy

The metaphor you used in this animation was really novel and the last scene using it later hit me hard. It was the best short animation I've seen recently. Thank you :)❤

This was so beautiful. The moment we realized what death was. I stepped on a lizard when I was around 6 or 7 and that's when I realized that i was going to die one day too.

The last couple of days, I’ve been watching all the 2024 CalArts films. And may I just say this is one of my favorites. As an aspiring animator, I appreciate these wonderful films. The low FPS choppy style shows so much more emotion than 24FPS animated on 1s. I LOVE the classic CalArts style, and this is a great example. Well done, truly unique work of art you’ve made. I cannot wait to see what masterpieces you’ll make in the future! 👏 (Edit) what FPS’ do you guys use?

This hit me like a truck. I've been full on sobbing for the past hour, and I just need to say this work touched me in ways I didn't know grief still could. I lost my grandfather when I was 6, during the funeral I was sent with my friend to play in the bedroom, I couldn't process that he was gone. I just recently lost my grandmother, and as the older sibling to 3 younger brothers, I felt it on a whole other level. This film is just so well done, and so raw of a depiction, I legitimately think it helped me process my grief. Thank you.

Came in, stayed for the story, enjoyed the art style, made a face in my heart that looked like this “ :( “ and wanted to rate 5 stars on letterboxed, can’t find it, and will call this the best of the 2024 cal arts short movies.

For some reason, the kid reminded me of Puff Puff from Your Favorite Martian, anyway I like how this was like, I enjoyed the art style and the part where he thought grandma would come back with the bended paper clip. He was being kind of a brat during the car part tho. I also know now that tamagotchi's deaths are not permanent and I can bring them back whenever I want, so thanks for that!

Thank you for making this. My mom passed when I was 13. I am now 20. I still struggle with the fact death is permanent every week. I wish I could reset her and have her meet my girlfriend and see our cats 💔

This was brilliant. I love how you illustrated the child’s simplified understanding of what the family was going through 😢 if only it were as simple as a “reset” button.
