What made you think it was from 2001? The Dragon Ball Z disk ad had "Ⓒ2002 B.S./S. T.A. Licensed by FUNimation" at the bottom of the screen. The Snoopy McDonald's toys in the Happy Meal ad were dated 2002 on the packet. The Paddle Pop competition ad had a text saying "Competition closes 15.03.02". This makes me think this ad break was from possibly February 2002.

Yes, this is Alan Deak's remix of Jack Grimsley's original tune. The third version by Tweed Harris was the longest tenured one, and I'm guessing that the Sale of the New Century mix was by Ross Inglis or Murray Jamieson (or both). 🤔

1:22 I have been looking for a few years now but can’t seem to identify it. Kinda has that 90s corporate feel to it which would make sense as I have found a few videos and DVDs from the late 90s early 2000s with this exact song. Is anyone able to identify the name of the track.

Speaking as an Aussie who was less than 1 year old at the time this was recorded: - I didn't know we ever had Toonami, and I think the sequences are pretty neat - oh hey this is one of the most recent episodes I watched (albeit subbed instead) - CARTOON NETWORK AUSTRALIA AIRED EVANGELION?! I mean the 10.30pm timeslot makes sense, but when we had Foxtel I never noticed CNAU airing anything that was rated higher than a soft 'M for Violence' (with that series being Naruto) - OCEAN DUBBED GROOVY! I didn't know that! - get unreal - That Fox Footy ad goes hard even with the signs of tape degedation tbh - also I don't remember Foxtel channels advertising the schedule for other channels, must've been a thing they stopped doing by 2008 (when my family first got it) - dragon dragon rock the dragon

1:12 This was back when the Sea World Resort was known as the "Sea World Nara Resort." The "Nara" word was dropped from the name when Village Roadshow acquired full ownership of the hotel from a Japanese company called Nara Australia. I don't think the company exists anymore, since nothing came up on Google.

@@fabman132 you’ve brought back memories, the octagon ones had little indents so you could connect them to one another and the Z shaped ones could be connected on top of each other and interlocked I only collected the original Tazos and getting Orange ones was always satisfying

My parents let me play a LOT of LodgeNet SNES when we went to Florida in December 2000! I agree $5.95-$6.95 an hour is a bit much but do please keep in mind: - most of the games available were ones I had never played before - I never owned an SNES by that point (always been a Sega person!) - I wasn’t as serious a game collector as I am now - I had just turned 13 - 3 of the games available did not get retail releases - the Game Boy Advance wasn’t out yet

Takes me back, only watched Cheez TV myself occasionally, but the ads take me back to when I’d see toy ads on free-to-air (or as my family and I called it “normal TV”) while staying with my little brother’s dad. It was always so good.

The sucks a bit. I used to love waking up and watching Pokemon and the other cartoons in Primary School, and moved onto watching Dragon Ball Z for the first few years of high school. Watching Goku go Super Saiyan was such a huge moment for everyone. Without fast internet we had no idea what to expect beyond a few low resolution stills you could fine online. No phones meant these huge groups of people having discussions would pop up all over school.
