This is THE JAM!! Clivilles and Cole remixed this to perfection with the samples to make it hot for the streets and clubs I Can't believe this didn't chart on the Billboard Hot 100 This was played in heavy rotation on Kiss 108 in Boston by DJ Sunny Joe White in 1989-1990. Dede was from Boston and I think Bobby Brown helped sign her

I agree that C+C really amped it up significantly! I didn't realize that she's from Boston; but she also appeared on Bobby's 'B. Brown Posse' compilation several years after this. By that time, I believe he was based in Atlanta (she also was briefly signed to Laface subsequently).

I was in kindergarten when "Love come down" was out so must have been born around 1976. Similar story although I also got into country music. I preferred BET and WBLS/WRKS here in NY to any more pop oriented stuff. I vacationed in Newport News around this time and went to Tidewater Tides games. I stopped reading Billboard in the late 90's. I was a loner and couldn't deal with becoming a man (wanted to stay a boy and later got into gender medicine which was one of the better decisions I made). It's been awhile since I heard the name Donna McElroy and the phrase "hone your chops". I lived in Philly briefly around 2000-01 and then moved back to Orange County, NY. I'm retired at 48 and look after my mother. I'm financially set and building a barn home for my 80K cd collection.

Biden has dementia as did my father. Biden will likely die within 6-8 months since he is getting passed the wondering phase and struggling to speak. Sounds appear loud and he can barely walk with a shuffle. This is a sign he is nearing the final stage of the disease. Since he has Covid, he might not last until the end of the week. Biden in incompetent and you are seeing his better side. I guarantee you that he won't be alive a year from now! I'm someone who went through it with my father.

You actually believe in politics.. do you still believe in the tooth fairy too? You think your vote matters? You think these actors care about you?
@retrorhythms13 күн бұрын
The problems of our country will not be magically resolved by ignoring politics. Sadly, the tooth fairy has no political clout.

Chuckie sounds alot like Bryson Tiller of today who said he preferred being behind the scenes as a producer more so than out front as an artist. 2 insanely incredible writers....

It's a shame Front Page only produced one studio album. All were musically gifted and that album cover to cover is exceptional. The '90s were tough marking the tail-end of New Jack Swing and fans had already picked their fan faves (Bobby Brown, Bel Biv Devoe, New Edition, Johnny Gill, Jodeci, et al.) - and the emergence of the R&B genre. Artists were already several albums into their catalogue and Front Page was debuting. Let's just say it was highly competitive. Also, there is always the aspect of whether the label will support a burgeoning artist and put resources behind that group when their top artists are the highest grossing. The music business is funny that way. As an example, "Something You Can Appreciate" was produced by David Cochrane of The Commodores, which is why that track is so well done and tight. If you love music production, Front Page's album is for you. Front Page reminds me of the group Intro, who had great talent but didn't connect with listeners. One of the great groups that never really took off, but have a smaller, loyal fanbase which truly appreciate their music.
