We just married off our third (and youngest) daughter in 7 months. The "hurt" is real. Moments from this movie were running through my head al week long, though our family is crazier than George Banks so we had more weirdness 😅 But, the pain of this scene hit us like a brick when we got home and walked into our daughter's empty room... 😭💔

Mother to my son always seems so easy. Father to my son is super easy to me. Mother to daughter can have its moments of difficulty. OH man. Father to daughter is the toughest. I have a 9-year-old girl and an almost 5-year-old boy. Let me tell you. Father to daughters is the toughest for me.

It's never really been about him hating Brian it's really just been about George struggling to accept that Annie is an adult and ready to start her own family. He has to let go which is terribly painful but ultimately accepting her leaving the nest fills his heart with joy and pride in the end to see his girl spread her wings and fly in the sky.

I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. It does seem that nearly all fathers and brothers are hoping that their daughters and sisters never date or get married and remain single for the rest of their lives. Romantic relationships seem like a bad thing since there is a lot of dangers when it comes to them. The overprotective father/brother thing is proof that romantic relationships are a bad thing, and this world would be a much better place without them. If someday that the human race ditches the concept of romance and romantic relationships, and got rid of stuff like dating and marriage, fathers and brothers would be happy about it since they wouldn't ever have to worry about their daughters and sisters ever dating if that ever happened.

Like cousin married her high school sweetheart high school wrestler yada yada football blah blah blah she was a cheerleader yada yada etc. so on that was in 1995. It ended in divorce too to teenage sons later I knew it wasn’t going to last that’s why I walked out of the church before they kissed each other I wanted to speak or forever hold my peace but I forever held my piece. Held my piece til today

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. Also, it seems that fathers usually hate it whenever their daughter gets a boyfriend (even if the boyfriend is a good guy), and it seems that they often hate the idea of their daughter dating, and many fathers seem against the idea of their daughters dating. There are even shirts made for daughters that say "I'M NOT ALLOWED TO EVER DATE" and shirts made for fathers that say "Dads against daughters dating". There's also a lot of other shirts and merchandise made for fathers that say stuff like "Rules for dating my daughter: #1. You can't!" or "Before you date my daughter, know this: I'm a dad with a shotgun, a shovel, and a backyard." Most fathers don't want their daughters to have anything to do with boys outside of being friends. Many fathers won't allow their daughters to date when they are in high school or still living with them. So it seems that most fathers don't ever want their daughters to find love and be in a romantic relationship with someone. So those could also be other reasons why the concept of romantic relationships isn't a good thing because of how protective fathers tend to be whenever their daughter dates someone since they are afraid that the boyfriend will be a pervert that will make their daughter uncomfortable (also break her heart or abuse her). Domestic violence does happen in a lot of romantic relationships and marriages, and a lot of people who are in a romantic relationship or married do cheat on their partner or spouse with someone else. Bad stuff like that happens in a lot of romantic relationships and marriages.

Crying when George never got to kiss his daughter goodbye. The actors and actresses were the right people to be in the film. George could have pushed and shoved a little bit while the lineup for dinner was taking forever. Great movie otherwise.
