Awesome video! This kinda reminds me of the video 'Kiss' by The Editors.

You know, listening to this cast album was the first time I really understood what the song was about. I guess it was so catchy, I just didn't listen to the lyrics.

Duncan Sheik's "Hey You" (2015) has a strikingly similar chorus and lyrics to Yellowcard's "Lights and Sounds" (2005), from ten years earlier.

Duncan Sheik always has top notch songs. Hauntingly beautiful. Also I was today years old when I found out that Matt Smith has a beautiful voice. And of course Jonathan Bailey.

One night, many, many years ago, friends and I had tickets to see Ben Folds. Had no idea who the opener was gonna be. Got there and it was Duncan Sheik. Ok. Sure. He closed with this. We all also loved Radiohead and this blew us away. I never thought Duncan Sheik would be one of my most memorable experiences at a concert when I first heard Barely Breathing.

[CRAIG MCDERMOTT] I like ‘em like that I like a hardbody I bet that after this class She teaches dirty karate [DAVID VAN PATTEN] I like ‘em like that I like a hardbody The curve of her ass [LUIS CARRUTHERS] I guess it’s not too shoddy [MEN] I like ‘em like that I like a hardbody She keeps a tidy rig But you know she’s naughty [INSTRUCTOR] Hey boy, stop talking like you got me Ya gotta impress me and I like a hardbody Hey boy, you think that you can have me? Stop staring at me, work your hardbody [MEN] We like ‘em like that, we like hard bodies When she gets wet, she won’t be so haughty We like ‘em like that (We like ‘em like that) We like hard bodies (We like hard bodies) We want to taste their… (We want to taste their…) La dee dah-dee [COURTNEY, spoken] What's the rest of your day like? [PATRICK, spoken] Uh, the gym and then meetings. A show with Evelyn if we can get tickets. [COURTNEY, spoken] Phantom? [PATRICK, spoken] No, Les Mis. [COURTNEY, spoken] Alright. It's long but good. [PATRICK, spoken] Oh, you've seen it? [COURTNEY, spoken] Luis took me last week. Listen Patrick, as much as I relish these afternoon trysts, we need to stop. [PATRICK, spoken] And why would we do that? [COURTNEY, spoken] Well because I was talking to my therapist... [PATRICK, spoken] Oh God, uh huh yeah, and why did he tell you to do? [COURTNEY, spoken] Ok, first of all my therapist is a woman- [PATRICK, spoken] Oh goddammit great... [COURTNEY, spoken] And I was talking to her about you and she thinks you might be bringing too much negativity into my life [PATRICK, spoken] Uh huh, I see. So because your therapist tells you to break up with- [COURTNEY, spoken] It's not just that! So, don't you feel guilty? [PATRICK, spoken] Why would I feel guilty? [COURTNEY, spoken] Because I'm your girlfriend's best friend. [PATRICK, spoken] Oh, by that reasoning you should feel guilty too. [COURTNEY, spoken] I do! Not to mention, Luis is starting to suspect. [PATRICK, spoken] Oh God, Luis is, is- [COURTNEY, spoken] Don't you call him a f*ggot! [PATRICK, spoken] A dork, I was gonna say, a twit. Hey listen, I'm doing a survey of the women I fuck. Is it my muscles that excite you or the heft of my cock? [COURTNEY, spoken] Are you listening to me? We're stopping. We're betraying Evelyn, we're betraying Luis. [PATRICK, spoken] Let me ask you Courtney, hypothetically, if something were to happen to Luis, an accident say or a violent crime, and he were out of the picture would you be upset? [COURTNEY, spoken] I can't answer that... it's too morbid. I'd be devastated. [PATRICK, spoken] Fine. Awesome. [COURTNEY, spoken] I hope things won't be weird between us now. I hope we can go back to being friends. [PATRICK, spoken] Courtney, and please don't take this the wrong way, you're a babe but no sex is worth this bullshit. [COURTNEY, spoken] Fuck you! Asshole... [LUIS] I always knew that He wants to want me He can’t decide and so he taunts me He was lost for words When I caught his eye Now he knows, he’s my kind of guy Oh boy, I felt his rock hard abs I didn’t even have to ask and it’s happening at last

LYRICS: [PATRICK, spoken] It takes Paul Owen five minutes to die Another thirty to stop bleeding I know because I time it Afterward, still wearing the bloodied raincoat I take a cab to Paul's apartment on the Upper East Side I let myself in with his keys A plan is taking shape in the folds of my brain But where should I send Paul on a business trip? Rome, Amsterdam, Phoenix London! I'll send the bastard to England! His answering machine "Hi, this is Paul Owen" "Hi, this is Paul Owen" "I'm sorry I'm not here to take your call But I'm in London for the next two weeks Taking the Fisher account to the next level.” [COMPANY] We are sinners Modern sinners We are winners Wasted winners We are faceless Perfect faces We fixed the races And took our place [PATRICK] But I'm [PATRICK AND COMPANY] Clean [PATRICK] I've become [PATRICK AND COMPANY] Clean [PATRICK The things I've [PATRICK AND COMPANY] Seen [PATRICK] And still I'm [PATRICK AND COMPANY] Clean [FULL COMPANY] Rise and shine, don't waste time Head to the terminals, head to the mines Present yourself As someone who knows In which direction capital flows Make it happen, make it rain With conjuring and leisure domain Flash a smile, bear your teeth They'll never guess what's underneath

Crazy how much this scene was reworked for the broadway version. Here Price is spiraling and Bateman is trying to calm him down, in the Broadway version it was the opposite. A shame, because I think I like this version more. Just a shame there's no cast album of the Broadway cast.

My son died 6 years ago tomorrow and this song deeply resonates with me and I feel he left too soon and he played this song several months before he passed. This song haunts me. I love and know G-D and in an unexplained way expresses how I felt about his message before leaving. Each year I listen to the message differently than the perhaps intended message. Love those around and in your life deeply ❤he died of a fentanyl overdose administered by his then girlfriend
