I need to install .NET 6+ to be able to install a program called Vortex that is a mod manager for games. I have a new Windows 11 laptop but I don't have any .NET installed on it at all, is it normal for the computer to not have .NET installed from the get go? I'm obviously not familiar with .NET and what it does and I only need it for the program that I'm trying to install, so can I just follow your tutorial and install the most recent version of .NET? Also will it do anything to my computer and programs or will it only affect the program that requires it? Best regards

It is normal for a new windows 11 machine to not have .NET. You don't need to install Visual studio 2022. So, you can install only the .NET package by following the steps mentioned from 5:54 onwards in the video. It will not harm anything else on your system. It is good to have .NET in your system as lots of programs use it.

Thanks for your comment. CI/CD pipelines will be the best way to do it. If you don't have CI/CD then you have to execute the manually in these environments.

when i click on IIS Express the build starts but it does not get completed. The web browser does not open up. Why is it like that?

Try only Control+ Shift + B key. This will only do a compile/build without running the application. Then you can run the application by pressing F5 key. You can also do the same directly from the toolbar menu. In the output window you can see the result. There could be some exceptions in the code or your browser may have some issues due to which it is not starting.
