A 19 year old Santa Cruz teen jumped from a 60 foot boulder and landed in about 1 foot of water at Matilija Dam tn Ojai this past weekend on 10/7/2023. The teen sustained traumatic injuries and was in an area with difficult access and had to be rescued by a helicopter. This is unfortunately not the first time something like this has happened there.

2021 June. I went there today. No pools of water just wet ground with a little water waterfall to wash you feet under. Some other folks were there with a dog. They said the "pool" at the top of the ladder was silted in. And I carried out some trash. Maybe good for a hike destination but swimming is out. At least there are videos of what it once was!
