What equipment did you use to mount the roof basket? I ordered the same vantech rails and a basket but just like you, the bolts are too short. Curious how you ended up getting the basket secured down

NIce video! We have similar trucks I have a 2000 GMC 1500 with a leer canopy, it was my dads hunting truck he bought it new and now I have it only 70k on the clock. But I want to do the same thing and just had not found the right rack system yet. I want the rack and the basket but mostly so I have something to mount one of the those 270 degree swing out canopies to. I too was looking at the inside seeing the reinforced fiber glass areas trying to find something that fit those dimensions. The next thing is a solar panel up there with a battery and inverter, then lastly the lift kit. Thanks for giving me some ideas to chase down.

Looks good man. But having been there and done that, you will eventually notice the black spray paint flaking off and getting on everything. When you make a new one, use PlastiDip spray paint as it’s “rubberized” or flexible. So it doesn’t flake off as easily.

You may want to look into a diesel heater, very nice fresh dry air without the smell from the buddy heater.
