The name Campbell is to this day still synonymous with treachery by many as a result of the clans actions on behalf of the crown at Glencoe.

Saw them live so many times. The sixties and the seventies were great for real music - didn't appreciate what a wonderful time it was creatively until it was all gone. Corries, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Runrig, etc. Such a pity for today's youngsters, no real music, just posers who can't sing using autotune and other electronic tricks.

Just brilliant! Now, is it for censorship reasons they they left out "Guess who?"... "B****ard!" Or is it maybe just the tartan army that includes those lyrics?!

Sur la Via Francigena j'ai croisé beaucoup de cimetières de la Première guerre mondiale. J'ai été très touchée alors cette chanson rend vraiment hommage à tous ces soldats morts.

Reminds me of Red Point near Port Henderson overlooking the Minch. What a steely grey cold water in the winter. Nobody lives on beautiful Mingulay. Sadly, they've all either been cleared or move on. That's the story of Scotland.

As the massacre was awful I am a decendent of the clan Macphearson who commited the crime but we all should learn from the past and just use it as for education no one ever said that humans are perfect but we can do good in this world and be proud for who we are!!!!

So many comments have this song and its meaning wrong. Burns is referring to the 31 Members of the SCOTTISH Parliament who sold out to the English in 1707 with The Act Of Union. The " Rogues" received land, money, and other considerations" for their treachery. The Act Of Union ended Scotland's independence. Hence Burn's " a parcel of Rogues in the nation"
