Hello Doug, I have glasses from your company. They broke. I contacted the branch and they said, sorry, but the shop cannot replace the frames without an updated prescription. "As previously mentioned, as your prescription expired in 20XX we wouldn't be able to order a replacement pair of lenses for you or send you out a pair of frames to fit the lenses yourself." Then. "If you are able to have a new eye test you can email us the new prescription in which we will be able to order a whole new replacement pair of specs for you including the lenses and can take payment over the phone." I said it was urgent. I explained the following. From the Opticians Act 1989. Section 27 does not require a written prescription of any age to be presented. Therefore, other than for the practical purpose of ascertaining the lens(es) to be dispensed, a registered optician does not need a prescription. They have not replied. I am overseas. Not happy with what I've been told, now i escalate to you directly. 🙏

I went to specsavers in Brighton, they had really greasy, dirty broken equipment and an array of overpriced cheap glasses,I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances....

KZfaq siggestin hearing aid to a healthy 35 year old man that has the body composition of a 12 year old child never amazes me. Either that or the hole hearing thing is just a big fat promotional scam

I showed up to my specsavers appointment recently and was told that the optician was “working from home” and would conduct the eye test remotely. I’m assuming this was a LIE and they are simply in a call centre in India. It was very rude of specsavers to not inform me that I would not be receiving a normal eye test when I booked. Eye tests sometimes also spot health problems so it’s important for the optician to actually be present. Anything else is madness.
