Sounds like you need to find the root cause. You also should lube the entire. Able, not just the part sticking out. I flush my cables completely on my motorcycle, nit just the exposed end. It als9 seems k Ike a simple boot over the exposed cable would resolve the issue if it were just road dirt and debris...

BUT! WD-40 is not a lubricant. Best way to lube the cable is to slip it into a funnel and tape it up then with the cable inside the funnel pour oil into the funnel enough to cover the end of the cable and operate the cable a bunch of times. now you have lubed a cable. or spray a lubricant on the cable like you were doing with the WD-40.

When you buy a bike for 25k and up one should not have a parking break issue or fault issues. Can AM needs to get their act together. Neither, But it was fixed by taking the Cable loose, the spraying WD-40 on the Cable, then working the button, spraying some more. I do it once yea now, never had it happen again... Have done the fix for several others since. The Parking Brake Stuck... First, Stop Trying To Release The Parking Brake With The Button... No Need To Burn The Parking Brake Motor Up... Here’s what you need : 12mm wrench Needle nose pliers WD-40 Scotch Blocks 1. Scotch Block the Wheel. 2. Loosen the cable, then remove the Spring. The Parking Brake is released once the Spring is removed. While we have it apart... 3. Remove the Cable & bring it up thru the open area between the Muffler & the Spyder Body. 4. Spray some WD-40 in the Cable Housing Tube, Work the Cable by using the Parking Brake Release Button. Release, Apply, Release Apiiiiply, Spray more WD-40. Do this a few times to get the Cable Lubed. 6. Put back together & Test. A Footnote... I have had this happen to me & seen it happen to others too... While the Parking Brake is still set, It’s put in Gear & the Thrott le is applied. You can’t move of course. Then you try to release the Parking Brake & it won’t. I think it is because the Brake is A Lot Tighter now that when just set with the Button. The Parking Brake Motor does not have enough power to Release the Brake now... Just a thought...
