Cool video. I remember when my husband told me about that. He was on the ship when it happened. He's a wheelsman.
@bobstaff4193 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Umm....he wasn't the wheelsman at the helm when it ran aground was he ?
@susane72213 жыл бұрын
@@bobstaff419 no, he wasn't but it's not the other wheelsmans fault either. That first ship in line wasn't supposed to be there and so it had to run aground in order not to hit the other ship. I may not be explaining it correctly. My husband explained it but I suck at repeating. Lol.

I just started using this software, I hope you can help with a few things, you are definitely an expert. The models look very good! How high was the flight and what was the GSD to get such good models? Did you use the Node-odm-1 or MicMac for the processing node? Last question, any special settings on the software to achieve this level of accuracy and etc? I hope you can help a guy in Kansas.
@lighthouseaerialimaging72253 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that I'm an expert, but I have learned a lot by trial and error. This was taken with a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual at 75m AGL. The DJI software said the GSD was 2.3 cm/px, but WebODM calculated an average of 5.0. That would be because of the difference in actual altitude between the top and bottom of the wash. I processed this on a separate computer with a full docker installation and a LOT more processing power, then I export the results (zip file) to the on-line site for viewing. I generally start with default settings except change PC Quality to high or ultra, check DTM and DSM for landscape (unchecked for buildings), and sometimes set octree depth to 12. Then if the results are not what I wanted I will re-run it again with different settings. I highly recommend the ODM forums....that's where the big brains are !

So what do they do, cut the wheelhouse superstructures from ships and plant them in the ground to use as office or workshop space? Or do they bury the whole ship leaving the top sticking out? Lol

They need some serious dredging in that canal, it will be to the point that no one will be able to transit with out being hard aground, yikes.
@daveh10053 жыл бұрын
LOL nothing wrong with Canal depth, you just gotta keep the ship between the red and green channel markers.
@lighthouseaerialimaging72253 жыл бұрын
Now this isn't confirmed, but apparently the captain asked to stay in the lock due to the wind, but was denied. And was blown across the canal, rubbing against that white ship as it headed for the east wall and got stuck. I don't recall it being that windy that day, and I certainly can't comment on the captains ability, but he was the only one aground that day. I read on another site that earlier that month it had to be towed into another port. Maybe this ship just isn't as maneuverable as it was planned.

Why do Canadians like the unloader on the bow? Better vision? Put a sail up there as well so you can really get a good look.

I'm sure that when they run aground its likely closer to dump their load on land. Just a guess though.
@judyscheiber36613 жыл бұрын
@@lighthouseaerialimaging7225 CORRECT. This is a very new ship and when they can be built with it on the front, they are in order to get better access to land. When they are converted, it’s on the aft. NOTHING TO DO WITH ONE COUNTRY OR ANOTHER.

This ship was built in China and is one of the new most efficient breeds. I think keeping the unloading gear away from the accommodations is a great move.

Man great video! I just subbed to your channel. I was really looking for footage like this because I want to buy the same drone for music videos (low flying like what you were doing around the artist I work for). Was wondering if you could do a demonstration using PRECISION MODE flying low and slow (like 2 miles per hour) simulating DJI tripod mode. Nobody is posting footage of this feature. It would really help me decide to purchase for flying low and slow around the recording artist in their music videos. Thank so much!
