Thank you man you got a really good heart. I’m 24 and currently getting enrolled in CDL classes. Since i was a teen I’ve been working mediocre jobs to make up for the mistakes i made at 18, i know this is my calling and it’ll be the thing to really turn my life around. You just confirmed that!

I can so relate to the mentor just wanting to do it. Mine would let me but he would tell me every move to make. instead of letting me just figure it out or wait for me to say ok I need some direction what al i doing wrong.

Right now I'm trying to save for a CDL school at this moment I have nothing saved nothing in my bank and living in the ghetto. I'm trying to find out information about what I need to do and I counted 70 jobs I applied for not one called back so that's makes it even harder but I'm trying and won't give up

Rule 1: SWIFT = Swing Wide It's a Friggin' Trailor. Rule 2: Real truckers don't wear flip flops, wash their trucks with the squeegee in the truck fuel aisle, block the scales.

Bro you have great story thanks for sharing and someday your kids will be very proud of you 🙌🏼. Man can’t wait to start trucking school soon. I’m 39 years old, the first time I thought about getting my CDL A was back in 2006, I had a friend that gave me the question Book to study for the permit, That book was humongous over 1000+ pages I was like Nah no way I’m reading all that, I had no time married with a child to support, I had a good job as a salesman, my biggest concern was driving manual transmission truck because back then all trucks were Manual. Even though my car at the time was manual I hated driving it during rush hour traffic NYC, my job was good for years but the company stopped giving their workers a raise since 2019 & life started getting difficult paying the bills as a father with four children. ⏭️ All the way to January 2024 my boss comes to me and tells me that the company is going through difficult times & most likely bankruptcy by the end of 2024, that’s when I realize where would my life be now if had gotten my CDL back in 2006. I started looking into everything out there, I didn’t have a high school diploma didn’t realize how important it was to get a job, All companies need a high school diploma or 2 years college, didn’t care about my 18 year of salesman experience. Reason I didn’t have a diploma Because of some trouble I got into with the school during my senior year ended up getting expelled & didn’t graduate long story. I looked into everything else, UPS was only hiring seasonal workers & a chance for permanent position after 2-3 years and not 100% I’ll be hired, MTA had a wait list to take an exam and another wait list after passing the exam which can take up to two years or longer of wait. That’s when I started looking into getting my CDL, & flashbacks started hitting me, during studying i noticed 80% of trucks today have automatic transmission, that when I decided getting my CDL, i went online studying nonstop for my permit until i started getting 90s + on my practice test went to the DMV in May during my birthday week and pass all 3 exams first try, went back the next week passed the tanker, just finished taking the ELDT COURSE now I’m in search for a CDL driving school not sure if I should pay out of pocket or join Swift school? . If anyone has any recommendations of good school in NYC or if I should join a company that pays for school please let me know I’ll really appreciate it, God bless and Good luck to all.

I commend you on having the courage to implement you dreams and business. Most people don’t follow through with their dreams, so kudos to you. Life is meant to be challenging so that we can learn to adapt and develop our “figure it out-ability.” I’m looking forward to the next chapter in your life. Best wishes with all of your future endeavors. Safe Travels.

I feel like your story is very similar to mine. I turn 29 in a couple days #Gemini and I literally have no direction in life. Graduated in 2013, and worked in department stores and grocery stores as a cashier and a stocker. Worked in the food industry for some years. Then I went into the warehouse industry for about 4 years (currently in it). I kept losing my job in warehouse because I could never keep up with the fast-paced and hard environment and I could never meet the hourly quota they wanted me to meet. I know this industry isn't for me and I have felt stuck for some time now. I am currently studying for my CDL's right now. Hearing your story is very motivational and inspiring. I feel like this career change will also change my life and I can't wait to have that job security that I never had before. Living paycheck to paycheck is hard and I know this isn't the life I want to live. Thank you for this video!! And good luck on your truck driving career!
