great video, thanks a lot. The one thing i don't really like tbh is if, like you did, you switch "Initial Servo AF pt for..." to the middle option, when in tracking AF mode, you loose the ability to switch between eyes and/or faces. In other words it doesn't give you those arrows that show you you can use the knob to flick between eyes and people....does that make sense?

Thanks for this video. I have owned a Canon T7i crop sensor camera for 5 years now and am ready to move up to a full frame camera. I want to go mirrorless and stay with Canon as I don't want to have to start from scratch learning a different manufacturer's software. I am not a professional but consider myself an advanced enthusiast. The R6mkII fits exactly in Canon's hierarchy of mirrorless cameras where I think I need to be.

Great explanation! I shoot dual back button auto focus with the "af/on" being single point and the "*" being a large area for flying or fast moving subjects.

Thank you for making this tutorial. I know it's been out a few years now, but I only just got a G90. I have a question though. Around the 46 minute mark you explain about how to be able to move the focus point around using the pad on the back of the camera by turning on Direct Focus Area. This is something I wanted to do so I can move it while using the EVF, without having to touch the screen. So that works great. But it seems to disable the ability of the pad to choose the autofocus type. It just moves the square around. I may have missed it, but how do you then choose the focus type with Direct Focus Area enabled?

Michael. Great video and info. I bought your crash course. Quick question on the Sony A7 iv is there any difference between lossless compression and uncompressed in the files as far as quality? Even in higher ISOs?
@MMaven
@MMaven 11 күн бұрын
There is a difference, but it is very hard to see unless you are shooting a niche type of subject matter, like astrophotography.

Thx for the video: i was wondering: the start up time at 10:40 was quite quick. When i start up my s1 it takes longer. Could it be because i only have an sd cart inserted?

I want to down load or up load my pictures from my t2i to my phone. I have a USB with a type C converter and a mini port (fits t2i) I was trying to figure out if or how to use this to put my pictures onto my phones memory or the SD card in my phone. Do you know if this is possible? I have had this t2i for 3 years and I will pull it out once or twice every few months , but then I get frustrated when I try to do things but never quite goes the way I was hoping. Tonight I wanted to get my Xmas pics off the t2i and transfer to my Motorola Android phone. In the past I have taken out of the t2i the mini SD card and transfered it to my phone. This has some issues. I have had my phone not want to access the SD card without formatting it. When I did format I lost everything on it. My friend bought a USB to C converter plug and it will plug into the t2i however my phone will not acknowledge that there is another device attached to be able to turn on the share files options. Any ideas on if I have spent enough time trying this? or would you know a detail that could point me in the correct direction? I also want to connect my t2i to my telescopes but the connector I bought does nothing. 😣😱 I have a routine of getting all my stuff out and work the problem, read, watch, and try until I get to the point I am at now. That is just frustrated and now I will put it all packed up in it's pretty camera bag until I want to take more pictures. I'm hoping I won't have to buy another computer to put the SD cards in up load the pictures and then send them to my phone. What is the mini port for if not sharing the pictures? Thank you for your videos sorry so long winded.

You should point out that you can reassign the AEL button as back button focus, I find it really difficult to keep on trying to only press the shutter button half way down and then press harder to take a photo when i'm having to take a lot of different shots one after another. It's far simpler to press the back button focus (AEL button) and then my shutter release button is purely for that one function actually taking a photo and not trying to stop pushing it down too far to lock focus before continuing to press harder to take a photo.

There is one setting I love on my Canon EOS system that I want to know if it’s available on Fuji before converting. That’s a setting to make autofocus only engage on demand. So it’s disabled when the shutter is half-pressed which is the default. Said another way, set it to only engage autofocus when you press the * button. That way I can focus on say someone’s eye by putting the focus point on their eye, pressing *, then reframe and take a picture without the camera refocusing on say their nose every time the shutter is pressed. This is a great setting for headshots for example if you’re at a very wide aperture with shallow DOF.

I am trying to find out what settings are visible through the viewfinder - not the LCD panel on the back. So let’s say you’re taking pictures by looking through the viewfinder, how does the view compare to what you showed on the LCD panel? Is the exposure meter still the same when in manual mode - a bar on the left? Thanks

Before i staart watching as I havemany People who know how to usegadgets try to get it squeezed into one or two videos I thought what if, they would make small videos that shows how to do what ever, step by step Put them in their collection, create a web page with an index how to do.. what ever Instructions often include a whole bunch of things I would never use, but they are packed into the bundle The camera not here yet.. just thought I would make things super easy for others who might be like me :)
