This song still to this day really does speak to a lot of people, especially now days. Now no one can just be “normal” or else, they’re a “freak.” No offense to anyone, but it really is a stereotype that has been developing in recent years. I understand we need to accept the unexpected, but it seems like people take it further and abandon being well, just average. I don’t say this in a way that means I don’t want to be weird, but I don’t want to become gay because I’m straight to fit in the agendas, I don’t wanna become trans to support trans rights because I’d rather support the choice my friend made to become trans right there in front of them where they can feel supported. I don’t want to join a religion just because it’s what “is right to do” because everyone has a choice why should a religion deny that? Why should any of it deny the choices that people have? There’s a million different sentences I can say to clarify my point, but I just want to be me. Not the facade of socially applicable standards. If that makes me a “liberal” , “freak” , “racist” , “trans-right abolitionist” , “gay rights offender” , “satinets” then fine. Call me that. But it won’t change who I am because, that’s me. I hope that anyone who struggles to find their place in society thinks that they should be themselves too. Because we need more people who are honest with themselves. Don’t mistake this for anything political, I’m just tired of people who lie to me about who they are, or really just who they want to be. My rule of thumb for anyone I’m friends with is simple. Perfect for summarizing this. “You are you, I am me. Don’t ever try to change you for me. Because I appreciate who you are more than me.”

While this provides a good look into what parents used to commonly do in the past. Now days, it’s arguably worse due to the lack of a parent. I don’t wanna downplay the video nor the concept, but cherish what you did have and whatever you may have left. Because you never know when it’ll all disappear. But never, let it lock you down in an indefinite and finite state of grief. Also, amazing video btw!
