The timeline of this film has always puzzled me. The film ends in '75 which is obvious because of the news coverage showing the fall of Saigon. And it looks like Stevie and Angela's son (who they conceived before Steve went away) is no older than 2. Also, the pageantry surrounding the wedding and send off of the 3 friends makes it feel like these buds were not drafted, but enlisted (showing their hubris). So is it safe to say the PA boys went away to fight in 72-73? Was it possible for Americans to volunteer after the draft ended? A lot of synopses has the film's timeline from '68-'75, but it just doesn't add up with the facts shown on screen.

This scene is why I hate the other Rambo movies. He’s a tragic character that covers some really serious and sad concepts about veterans in a really powerful way. Then they do a 180 and make him into a stereotypical 80s Arnold type character that just kills everything in his sight.
