Hey orangetunas, your comment made me rewatch the vid. My bad, I touch on it around the 3:25 mark and the 4:40 mark but I don't really show or go into any detail. Sorry about that. I used big lag bolts at the ends. I lagged one end in and then used beefy flat head lag screws every foot, then slid the wheels in and then lagged the last end up. The big lag bolts at the ends stop the rollers while the flat top ones in between let the wheels slide. I hope that makes sense and sorry I didn't touch on it better in the video. Let me know if you have any other questions. If you are still having trouble you can get me on the email on the page and I can send pics of the screws.

I've seen creators with way more stable footage from their ace pro. U must have not selected maximum stabilization and if you did. The heavier camera (ace pro) couldn't stay stable on your chest mount together with the gopro. Judging other youtubers clips with their ace pro their footage seemed superior as a single cam on a chest mount properly secured.

Hey Urban Dropper, all of your observations were covered in the video and previous videos I linked. I have actually seen Insta sponsored riders who's Ace footage was worse!! lol The reason I did this comparison was because the stabe when the Ace Pro was by itself on a chest mount was not as good, so I wanted to compare. Flow trails/chin mount is totally different, though still sub par in my experience. Thanks for the comment

Also, how are the wheels holding up? I am still ordering parts and debating between buying pricier wheels from the local hardware store, vs the amazon imports.
@RidingThruLifeАй бұрын
Hey, the spinning hasn't really been much of an issue to be honest, though I do see myself sorting it at some point this summer. I have mastered a wheel bump to put it in the right orientation. lol. All it needs is some sort of friction. I might just try using some of the extra pool noodle I have and tape some above the rollers even just some tape under the nuts would provide enough friction to slow it. I'll keep you posted when I do it. It is an easy issue to solve just hasn't been annoying enough for me yet. No issues at all with the wheels, none. I just do not put the hook in valve spoke zone. Unless you mean the sliding wheels? Thery are great as well and zero issues with them too. lol Thanks for the questions.

Great video. I have the old proframe and proframe rs. I have small helmet and all the things you mentioned I found to be accurate. I mainly use it on an electric dirt bike and the old proframe feels more comfortable (despite the creaking sound) vs the rs. Like you said, the rs, just squishes my head too much and they have 2 thick cheek pads that don’t help. I was thinking of getting the new proframe but it doesn’t have fidlock and on website it says it only comes with 2 cheek pad sizes. The old one came with 3 cheek pad sizes and the thinnest is the best. Hope you do a review on the new proframe.

Hey Alex, thanks for the info. I am actually thinking I might grab the new one to round out the reviews. I wonder if the cheek pads are interchangeable? I'll check it out and keep you posted if I grab the new non- RS version. Thanks for the comment.

@@RidingThruLife thanks! Hope you get it. The cheek pads with rs and old proframe are not interchangeable. I am betting the new proframe is similar to the rs. They have a better cheek pad clasp but only 2 thick sizes. While the creaking sound sucks on proframe, I can deal with it if it means better comfort than rs. Plus, I put AirPods (transparency mode) and hardly hear the creaking anyways. Where is the location of your videos and rides? It looks nice

My first full face was a proframe. The lightweight super vented was awesome especially on the hotter days of park riding. But as I started getting better and riding more intense stuff I began to, and still wonder, how safe are these versus a dedicated dh helmet. I know they say they are dh certified but how do they stack up to a standard dh helmet?
@RidingThruLifeАй бұрын
Totally, I think a dedicated DH helmet is probably safer. I don't know how much safer, and what the different certs might be, but a DH helmet feels "safer" Once you start hitting Bike Park flow trail speeds I would want one on most of the time. I think for me, I wear a half shell for all of my riding outside of the park so why not have a little more protection? I am never going to peddle in a DH full face and the Proframe offers more protection than a half shell so why not? If you can handle peddling in them. lol I guess it's up to the user to decide if they trust it enough to be an "everything" helmet or have a DH helmet too.
@JeremyFacerАй бұрын
I think getting a real dh helmet is the best helmet option if you really want to protect your head/face. Yes they are a bit warmer but it’s worth it knowing how much more protective they are
@RidingThruLifeАй бұрын
I hear you, though there is not a chance I am pedalling all day in a full on DH helmet. DH helmets are usually quite a bit warmer, and usually quite a bit heavier than a "climbable" full face . If I am going to ride some slower jank that does not have me at super high bike park speeds and I can be in a FF helmet that breathes well while I climb and offers DH certified protection on the downs, plus is lighter and way cooler than a full on DH helmet, sign me up. For bike park speeds I think a full on DH helmet is warranted but for slower trail riding where you usually use a half shell why not have some extra protection thats airier and lighter if you can? Thanks for the comment.

I too am having similar issues but mostly with noise / super loud train horn style howling. I had used brand new pads mtx gold with brand new TRP rotors in my dhr brakes. Bed them in and squeal, howl etc, but man did they bite and bite predictably for long downhills too. I’m heavy and ride a full fat emtb Shit mtx an email and they sent out a new set. They mentioned (and I’ve heard this from others as well) that it could be the TRP rotors and whatever costing maybe they use. - so I tossed some sram 220/200 rotors on, brand new mtx pads again, and same issue but only on the rears this time. I continued to try sanding and alcohol or acetone per MTX’s recommendations, but nada . After just 20 miles, the pads looked glazed so I chucked em. Put purple galfers in and eh, they’re good, and can handle the heat but done offer the same bite or level of control as mtx I’ve ordered one more set of new to rotors and mtx pads - again- to try and figure this out. I love the way the mtx pads handle how I ride, which is still creeping down steeps and they need to hold my bike and my weight, and they do, the best ever, but they’re absolutely finicky …. I dunno
@RidingThruLifeАй бұрын
Sounds familiar. I enjoyed them when they worked for me as well. Just couldn't get them to work consistently. After getting rid of them I have never had the issues I had with them. I do miss the feel and power though, they were great. Thanks for the comment and keep me posted if you figure anything out.
@anthonynazzal1958Ай бұрын
So today, brand new TRP race rotors, cleaned with acetone and installed new mtx gold pads…..again. Bed them in. Got howling again during bed in but it went away soon thereafter. Did a 17 mile ride with some steep descents. About mile 14, HHHOOWWWWLL …. It’s back with a vengeance. All dry riding no mud or water or anything. The brakes still have a good initial bite, then as you progress through the level pull they start to howl, and I lose power, then if I keep going on pulling, the howling stops and the wheels lock up. St this point I’m done. I’ve now tried three brand new sets of mtx gold, on three different types of brand new rotors. These are the only pad I’ve tried that howls like this…… back to galfer purples for me
@RidingThruLifeАй бұрын
Interesting, especially with "Quiet" being one of their big claims. Sorry it didn't work out but it sounds like you did everything possible to give them a chance. Maybe we need to try Maxima's with their Power pads? lol Or Mavens. Something for us big dudes. I haven't tried the Galfer purples, you like them?
@anthonynazzal1958Ай бұрын
I ran galfer purple on my older levo and liked them. They’re good pads that don’t seem to heat soak like other pads, but don’t have the same bite as the mtx gold. But yes they’re good and worth a try lol, I had called TRP and discussed a completely unrelated issue on my other bike that has TRP dhr, (bleeding issue since resolved) and they recommended that I try the TRP red pads. - which I did on this current bike……. And yeah, don’t run them. They bed in well bite well but on longer downhill, they overheated and I lost most of my power, which was scary. - TRP gold metallics are ok tho I’m also going to try upping the rear rotor size to a 220 lol

I can look at that, though there are only a couple anchor points so it seems like it is the whole system "rotating" as it's supposed to, and interacting with the helmet shell. It seems like it would take a lot of spray that you could then smell, sweat into your face and style your hair with.

@@RidingThruLife mine’s a 2021. I loaded it on the back many times last week but when some of the engineering staff (or whatever they were) were out looking at things they told me to side load because it was too long and the mainstay was hitting. Ahhh, I see. I cannot comment on the actual fix as it hasn't happened yet but you are not far off what I understand. From what I understand, they received the new 8 seater chair when it was purchased for another Vail property that could then no longer put it in so they brought it here. To increase uphill capacity they bought the bike carriers that go on the back of each chair. The old system, the bikes actually took up a chairs spot on the cable with no people so this way every chair has bikes and people. It has essentially always been Zone 5 of Aline from what I know, though there used to be an iconic feature called the GLC Drop in the last step ups place. Thanks for the questions.
