I be-leave the errors I was getting on my YA YA HAN b79 was due to file format, I was using PES file format (which works with Brothers machines) and getting errors, switched to EXP format (same design) exported from Artlink 8 ( as EXP file type ) as per the b79 manual ( see page 108 in b79 manual ) and now no errors. Did 2 designs and both went great with EXP file format!! So the b79 seems to be touchy as to what it eats for file designs...LOL But I can not find any info on the file type the b79 uses in the manual just what is said on page 108 about using Artlink 8 software, which you have to down load and install, its FREE so no problem there.

Just finished doing test of design on Brother SE1900 that was glitching on the VA VA HAN b79. It was perfect stitching on the SE1900 doing 5x7, NO GLITCHING at all, smooth, dependable stitching with no hic-ups compared to the Bernette VA VA HAN b79 which seemed to be having a bad day. So my opinion is..... I would trust my old trusty RECON SE1900 over my new VA VA HAN b79 machine, though I do miss the auto JUMP STITCH cutting on the VA VA HAN which the SE1900 doesn't do and I do like the larger 5 x 10 hoop on the b79 but the glitches I can do without!!!

Question???? Is the embroidery speed controlled by the slider dial on the front of machine, I know the sewing speed is. When I was doing embroidery I could change speed with the slider on the VA VA HAN b79, my brother SE1900 does not work that way, it only controls sewing speed!!
@dewalt57
@dewalt57 8 күн бұрын
Not so sure yet about this machine (VA VA HAN b79) after doing an hour long 5 color, Large 5"x7" NEW embroidery design which was pledged with glitches. Failed upper thread warning when thread broke (happened twice), bobbin thread error kind of iffy when it ran out, biggest problem was failed to stop for color change, it just kept on sewing with wrong color, did this on 3 color changes!! New Design (5"x7") that I was doing was made on the Creator 9 software that came with machine, I will run this same design on my brother SE1900 and see how it handles it before I make a firm comment on this machine but this is the second time I have used this NEW b79 for embroidery and it had glitches then also. I do have the latest update on the firmware installed, did that when I first bought the machine. So far...... overall opinion of doing embroidery on any home type machine is iffy at best, always has problems, in other words.... you can't always say the design came out OK on the first try. Always do a test on scrap fabric before wasting the good fabric on a new embroidery design that you have never done before, even if you have done the design before the results may not be the same as the first time, just depends on so many things that can go wrong and sometimes do. But it is a fun hobby and I do enjoy the challenges of it...😃

Can you embroider on vinyl with this machine?
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 10 күн бұрын
You can! We'd recommend, depending on the weight of the vinyl, using a leather needle to aid the process. Don't forget - Unless it's something like OESD's Sparkle Vinyl with a nice fabric backing, you want to be sure the design isn't too dense so you don't create a hole punch! Happy Embroidering!
@fashionableminds6804
@fashionableminds6804 10 күн бұрын
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum thanks so much 😀 How do you know how dense a design is? Also, can you use a certain type of stabilizer to be able to use the more dense designs on the vinyl?
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 8 күн бұрын
@fashionableminds6804 if you can see fabric through the design, it won't be too dense. A design like OESD's Summer Glow would be good! If it's dense, like Flora and Fauna with OESD, then you run the risk of it punching out. We usually recommend a tear away or cutaway, depending on the project. If you want more detailed help, give our number a call and we can guide you a little better! 888-897-6362

I have the opportunity to buy the older cutie frame second hand for a really good price with a stitch regulator .. will it do all the same as the Breeze ? I will how ever have to purchase a machine that the regulator will work with ..
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 15 күн бұрын
The Cutie Frame works very similarly to the Cutie Breeze. The biggest differences you'll see is assembly has several more steps on the original, and the carriage the machine sits on has handles that go underneath your quilt. You can eventually upgrade that carriage to the Breeze's carriage, though, so you've got options!

what is the best needle to use on my pr1x
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 15 күн бұрын
Your PR1X will use standard embroidery needles. Dependent on what you're embroidering on, we commonly see customers use a 75/11 or 90/14 embroidery needle. If you've got more questions about needles, check out this Tip Tuesday we did about them! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l8uSe8Z81Kezho0.html

I am having issues with the bobbin thread bunching when sewing with frosted/jelly vinyl. Regular vinyl is no issues. Can someone help?
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 29 күн бұрын
What type of needle do you have in your machine? Often times, a leather or vinyl needle can be a work of wonder with that! If you notice bunching on the bottom side of your fabric, double check that you're still threaded correctly up top, as well - Start with the presser foot up and rethread, just to see. Hope this helps!

I BOUGHT A B 79 SEWING AND EMBROIDERY SEWING MACHINE BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT KIND OF THREAD TO USE I AM TALKING ABOUT EMBROIDERY THREAD AND SEWING THREAD THAT SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE TALKED ABOUT DON'T YOU THINK ?
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 29 күн бұрын
We did a Tip Tuesday about different threads a while back, maybe this can help! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aZuHlrh1m7vOl3U.htmlfeature=shared Otherwise, regular thread works great for sewing - polyester is good for multi purpose sewing, cotton is usually used in quilting and piecing. In stores, we sell the Mettler brand which is great! Embroidery thread usually is shinier and polyester, and you'll have a thinner thread for the bobbin so your embroidery looks stunning from the top. We love Floriani and Isacord thread for the top thread in embroidery, and OESD's bobbin thread for the bobbin. Hope this helps! Yiu can always give us a call if you need more assistance. 888-897-6362

Can you demonstrate woven fabric shirring with settings for Brother NS2750D? I have followed the Brother recommended settings but no shirring. Tension was set all the way to 9...no shirring. Thank you!
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum Ай бұрын
Great idea, thank you for the suggestion! We unfortunately don't have the Brother NS2750D anymore, but we have plenty of Brother machines that are - especially this one! What type of fabric are you using? the lighter the fabric, the more obvious the shirring. We'd also suggest giving it a try with the needle in the leftmost position (stitch 1 or 2), put in the bobbin case with the red or purple dot instead of the green screw, and possibly try the "N" foot to give it some more room. Hope that helps in the meantime!
@cyndi8799
@cyndi8799 Ай бұрын
@@rockymountainsewingandvacuum Thanks so much for replying. I did watch a youtube tutorial that showed the tightening of the bobbin screw. It worked with the change in stitch length, needle shifted to the left ( as Brother suggests) and tension to the highest. ( Just remember the number of times that bobbin screw rotated to resume default bobbin tension).

@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum Ай бұрын
If you're getting skipped stitches, the first thing we recommend is to check your needles. If your needles are getting dull, or if they're not seated all the way to the top, you'll get skipped stitches when you start. Hope that helps!
